ET:QW demo, whos got it?

Its got a good idea but the actual shooting which you would imagine would be the most important thing is poor in my opinion. Just doesn't feel right at all.

First of all I hated this game. Then I figured out how to play one of the classes, learnt the objectives and started to love the game. Now though I'm so-so about the game. At the moment there is no team-work because none of your allies know how to play, or worse still, constantly team kill you(!) Also, the objectives are pretty basic and most of the time you run around trying to kill people since 1) there is no real team play and 2) once you've done your basic class quests like make a deployable, there isn't much else left to do.

HOwever, if you could find a knowledgeable group of people then I imagine the paper-rock-scissors gameplay could become more interesting as teams evolve new tactics, counter-tactics etc. It would be nice if engineers for example could figure out that they need to set up anti-personal, anti-vehicle and anti-aircraft turrets rather than just all making the biggest gun they can find.

So far I'm going to wait to see what happens before I invest good money into this product!

This game plays fine on my system, but it does get a bit choppy sometimes - so I'm wondering if this is server side lag?

Well, gave the demo a quick shot. Just doesn't feel right, vehicles feel very uninteresting and it doesn't really look anything overly special.

Not enough to grab me when I have Bioshock sat calling my attention. Don't even think it would drag me away from BF2 that I rarely play.

Played both of the betas, 2nd one was definitely better. Keep playing the demo but only play for two or three rounds before I get bored. I enjoy it, but not enough to warrant buying it.

Oh it gets worse than that. You go an Eng and start laying out the mines in smart spots to stop that nasty big MCP in it's tracks. Only your team mates seem to find them seconds later, then report you for TKing. nice one

It could do with class caps too, i mind that being in the old ET (or maybe it was an agreed rule in clan matches). Better balance that way and it stops every Strogg on your side picking up a railgun...

And after 2 years BF2 is still king of team based FPS. Tried the demo and did not like it. Thought the graphics to be a bit old but never bad. Never being into Si-fi shooters.

Mines don't explode if a teammate goes thru it just if the enemy do and you are better off deploying a AVT just outside the tunnel to take out the mcp and lay tripmines on the doors or a couple near ** deployabes to stop cov ops disbaling them.

But saying that ive had a few mines go off killing both a teammate and an enemy and get complained against, or if they are standing near it and an enemy throws a nade to destroy them.

EDit: opps forgot to say its way better being an engi as stogg or medic than a sniper, get massive points as those 2 classes.

I'm loving it so far, its been a while since I lost hours on a fps but this one keeps me playing just one more match. I enjoy the hectic pace, the simple objectives which let you focus on tactics, the variety of classes and weapons and the way it runs so well even on my old rig. It can get frustrating at times when you're pinned down and keep dying but then you got to try to figure a way out of the situation. It will only get better as people begin to learn the classes/objectives and start working together. I'd encourage anyone to give it a proper go, get on a decent server running a campaign and play a few matches. I wasn't sure to begin with but it grew on me very quickly.
