ETA on 5850s coming back in stock?

I sent a webnote last week but they were evasive and tried to sell me some of the very expensive models remaining in stock. Easy money if you can get it

I've got a pre-order in and they've taken my money so I think they have to honour the agreed price thank goodness... I could be wrong. Still I'd like to know when it's going to come into stock.

As an aside I'd love to know how the 5830 pre-orders are going... if at all...

muhuhahaha - arrived on desk this morning... bye bye 8800GTS hello beastie. All for £196... surprising what you can find if you hunt around...

Bah, I saw one for £215 last week but didn't have the cash to spare, today I do and it's gone up to £250!

Two things for sure, I'm never paying 250 and never buying a 5830. Back to the hunt...

Tell me about it... I was really interested in getting myself one of these -

As it was in blue had good reviews and it'll look killer in my Antec gaming case, as the rest of my PC lights up blue - so this would match lovely...

I'm replacing a 8800GTX with this, but can I find one in stock - no.!!

Typical. got the cash for a new GPU and nowhere to buy the card I've finally decided upon. One time I would buy nvidia, however the 5850 is a single GPU runs cooler and quicker then any Nvidia product for less money - or so I keep reading and being told...!!! correct me if I'm wrong.

You can paint a reference (generic) card blue, but it will invalidate the warranty.

What's weird is the production/supply problems were supposed to be sorted, then all of a sudden these carp 5830s show up at the 5850 price and the 5850 goes up 30-40 quid. Never mind the fact that they were 200 even on launch! AMD are getting evil now that they've been on top for a while. :(

They have watched the leaked Fermi benchmarks and realise they can up the price. :p

Moved from having a cheap 5850 on order - awaiting stock to having a vapor-x 5850 for £218 on order - waiting for stock. Fun this online shopping lark :p

Agree with you there. Prices were supposed to get back to rrp when supply reached demand now you cant get a 5850 on here for less than £252. Surely someone must realise nobody is going to buy that 5830 unless its about £160 and pushing up prices of the 5850 aint gonna make it happen.:(

Well the reality is that the buck stops with ATI and their selling price. That hasn't changed or has gone up and with the UK£ low against the USD$ there isn't much that retailers here can do. It's not great for us consumers but OcUK and the other retailers are a business and they're out to make money rather than as a middle man for distributing hardware at no profit.
