I'm after either an external hard drive I can plug directly into a router and have it just sit on a network as a storage dump (rather then a NAS), or an enclosure (that provides adequate cooling) that can do the same thing with a hard drive bunged in.

Just looking through the OcUK supply I can only see eSata/USB.

A NAS is just Network Attached Storage which is exactly what you're describing that you want. They're a wee bit more expensive than simple USB enclosures because there's more to them but these are the sorts of thing to be looking at to begin with.

Aye I was hoping to find a few that didnt have all the extra features to cut costs a little. Still, the MyXervers look decent according to reviews, don't suppose anyone here has tried one?

I have one - works ok, very slow to copy to for some reason, & bittorrent download manager doesnt seem to work at all at the moment.
