ethernet out??

right i am at university in the halls and they let us have one Ethernet conection in our rooms and there is wireless on a different network that all the internet i can pick up now the internet over wired run past a check or something the uni do that looks at the mac address my xbox laptop and pc are all registerd and alowed to be used but the rules of the uni say i can not split the signal using a router or something

so as i would need to register the mac address of anything i plug in or if the uni find something pluged in with a mac address that's not resisted when they scan there network i get my internet switched off until i remove it.

so i am looking for a way to plug my xbox in to the network along with my pc so i can have internet on both and can stop switching cables about.

if i switch will not show up on there scans then i will get one but i dont know if it will

Go buy a Linksys WRT54G, clone your PC's network card MAC address onto the routers WAN port, plug things into the router / wireless.

What I did in my first year at uni when I lived in halls, their network is none the wiser and you can plug extra things in. As far as they are concerned they will see all requests coming from one MAC address.
