Ethernet port/wire going?

How do I tell for sure, the linux OSes don't connect & Windows goes on/off???

Some more info about your issue would be useful. But if you think its a cable problem, cant you just test with another cable? Maybe you will have to move your computer temporarily if you only have short cables spare, but worth it to test.

Try plugging it in another port on the router? Had a similar problem until I did the above, seems ok now touch wood.

It was the wire one of the smaller wires didn't connect with the head... Strange though all accept for night before last the same wire worked fine...
