•Gigabyte Z97X-Gaming 7 Intel LGA1150 Z97 ATX Motherboard (4x DDR3, 6x USB3.0, 6x USB2.0, HDMI, DVI-I, DSUB)
•Crucial BX100 250 GB 2.5-Inch SATA III Internal Solid State Drive

•Alpenfhn Matterhorn Pure Edition CPU Cooler 120 mm
•NZXT H440 Mid Tower Case with Side Window and 4 Quiet Fans for PC - White/Black
•Team Group TLRED316G2400HC11CDC01 - TeamGroup Vulcan RED 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 PC3-19200C11 2400MHz Dual
•Dell UltraSharp U2515H 25" 2560x1440 60Hz Monitor
•Windows 10 Pro

I have been using the computer for 4 days now and all was working fine apart from I keep noticing this '04' error code on the motherboard led code lighting.. I have been trying to diagnose this problem but really cannot figure out what it is that is causing this error to show. I have tried bios reset, update all bios and drivers and still the same.

As mentioned everything on the PC itself has been working absolutely fine until yesterday the Ethernet socket on the mobo has stopped working.
This may have no relation at all to the error code or may do so? Any one have any ideas?

I have tested the Ethernet on my MacBook and it is definitely an issue with the desktop computer itself (not the cable or router).

Am I silly to think it is an issue with Windows 10? I have tried a standard troubleshoot fix to sort the problem but Windows come back with nothing.

Is there a contact to Gigabyte on there website because all I can seem to find is a support ticket and that could take days?

Many thanks in advance!

I just found this about windows fast startup.. does fast start up really make much of a difference? I noticed my bios also has a fast startup option?

Anyway, that is that problem solved but my main concern is the Ethernet socket.
It is showing just fine on device manager and I have tried drivers update, deactivate/enable.. the lights that show physically on it are a yellow flashing at the bottom and orange solid at the top.

Yes tried.. even the ISP engineer came out but he couldn't do much because he could clearly see that my laptop is connecting just fine with the exact same cable.

Tried reflashing the same BIOS? It might fix it

Use memory stick with BIOS on it and flash using qflash

How do I do that?

On your laptop first:

1: Click on the start menu and type adapter, then look for view "network connections"
2: Right click on your network and click "status"
3: Click on details
4: Then take note of the IPv4 default gateway address (should be something like 192.168.1.1) and the IPv4 DNS server address.

Now do the the same thing on your PC to step 2. Right click on your connection and click Properties.
Click on the networking tab.
Select Internet Protocal Version 4(TCP/IPv4)
Click the properties button
Select "use the following IP address:"
You need to type in the same as the router, but the last number must be different. If your router has a low number, use 200 for your desktop, i.e 192.168.1.200
Sudnet mask: 255.255.255.0
default gateway: <your routers IP address>

Then click on "use the following DNS server address" and enter the preferred to whatever you wrote down (more than likely the routers IP address). Click ok and that should do it, hopefully your internet works again now.
