Once Non EU migrants make it to the EU and get their papers they are free to go anywhere they like. No prizes for guessing where the vast majority will end up. Should we not at least be able to protect ourselves against this happening?

I sometimes feel like EU want to make the mainland one big happy prosperous place and use our island ad the dumping ground :(

It's well known that the rest of the EU sees our standing as an economic powerhouse with complete jealously and have done all they can to try to undermine that.

Yep, every time a journalist interviews these migrates in Europe they all say the same thing, they want to head to the UK

Without knowing the outcome of any negotiations, its difficult to say how I will vote.

That said, I am staunchly opposed to what the EU is creeping towards: a federal state. So if there is nothing in these negotiations to save us from that, I'll vote no.

Mind you, the EU may implode before we ever get to a referendum.

Why? What's wrong with having a federal Europe? Seems like a great idea considering we are all neighbours and have common trade interests, plus it would get rid of our corrupt voting system, parliament and monarchy

Well taking into account that this forum is a fairly more right wing & has a notably smaller population of Labour voters (who are coincidently usually more agreeable towards the EU) - the votes at this stage imply that we are likely to stay in.

Most polls indicate if there was a snap referendum, we'd stay in. But that poll could reverse overnight if the EU are perceived to be unwilling to meet any of our requests.

People usually only vote overwhelmingly against the status quo when there is a strong emotional motive. The EU could provide that if they don't negotiate in good faith.

You've got that backwards, people usually only bother to vote for the status quo when there is a strong emotional motive, it's the people who want change who are more motivated to vote, those who are happy are less likely to bother.

No, I haven't got it backwards. Unless people have a strong emotional reason, they will almost always vote to maintain the status quo. Whether they turn out is another issue altogether.

Yes - No brainer for me, I'm Welsh and we pretty much depend on the EU due to being underfunded by the UK.

The UK is the second largest contributor to the EU, so if we left the UK we could actually fund Wales more. Whether or not we would is another matter however (I am in favour of redistrubutions of wealth so think we should).

No he hasn't - he's spot on. Fear of change = stay with the status quo unfortunately.

Stay in. As an NHS worker, leaving would lead to the return of 90+ hour weeks and loss of any family life for me.

For all the downsides of being a member of europe, its important to remember that a lot of the positives of employment law come from there.
