Eufy home security thread

so is this eufy scandal really much of an issue these days?

moving into a new house next week and looking at the different options for cameras/doorbells and eufy seems to tick the box for the right price.

only need something simple to cover back garden/shed.
Yea still hasn't been fully addressed yet.

Kind of leaves a bad impression of the company really

Buying a ring doorbell went against every ounce of "don't be a sheep" in me. But in reality it's been decent. Got it on offer during lockdown to stop missing deliveries. Works fine. Not easy to run power to there for me so it's a wireless one. Spare battery gets replaced when it tells me it needs it every month or so. I pay £35 a year sub. I don't have issues with it being in cloud. It links with our Alexa devices well and has good features like drawing your zones and when it alerts us to motion etc.

I've been impressed with myself for actually once just buying a product on a whim without over analysing it much. It's been fine. Not perfect but good for it's intended use. If I ever decide I want more, I'd get a full CCTV system.

Anyone ever lost their Alexa controlling Eufy?

I used to say 'disarm shields' say my passcode and off they turn.

Then a bedtime routine would include turning them back on.

Now none of it works, I can't voice control the cameras on or off.

Alexa says 'ok' as though she is going to do it, but nothing happens.

I've unlinked the skill etc... But doesn't seem to work.

I can watch the video feed through the Alexa app, so it's not completely dead.

Any help appreciated
