Euro 2008 demo: out now

I like it, feels more polished than Fifa... would I buy it? No as it's just international teams, not worth it in my opinion.
 
Gameplay feels quite nice, on a par with PES IMO. However, as said above it's only international teams. Worth a rent for sure. The only problem with the game is the replays are still shocking, frame rate wise. Makes my eyes bleed watching them!

The big thing for me is, if Fifa 09 is like this or better, PES won't get a look in this year....Konami will have to pull a polished masterpiece out of the bag in October or they will lose more fans to Fifa.
 
Close ups are amazing but I thought the gfx were worse, perhaps it was because it was raining and there was no lighting.

Do they reserve weather just for the world cup and euro versions of the game? Always seem to put it in that but not in the normal fifa :(

and it is quite easy, but AI is better

PES 08 didn't get a look in when it came out last year. ;)
 
I thought it was absolutely brilliant, the responsiveness of the players, particularly when skipping past tackles or beating the CPU to the ball is a massive improvement (and where it was needed).

It's very, very good I must say, actually better than I thought it would be. The engine moves so slick and smooth now that PES should be VERY, VERY worried come 2009 editions.

I'm just amazed that it's EA (yes EA) who are improving and fine tuning FIFA into an awesome game.
 
Got home from work and downloaded this, wow they've really done a good job on this version. I was a fan of Fifa 08 but this just about improves on all the things which I didn't like. If it translates to a good club version later in the year then licensed played, excellent gameplay and nice graphics mean that PES is in trouble.

Yeah, I know what you mean. For me though, whilst Fifa 08 was a big improvement, it was just too slow and frustrating for pickup and play gaming, one reason why I always liked PES. PES 2008 was just an unfinished bag of crap even though it still (only just) played a better game of football. Euro 2008 as an EA game is now playing as well as PES so if EA can make Fifa 09 even better, I know where my money will be going this year.
 
PSN version should have been released yesterday but it seems there's been a problem getting the update up so we need to wait for that.
