Europe for 10 days where to go?

Ah, it will be just me, so can take away travel and food for the other 2 people. Accommodation would be the same.
Sounds about right; we tend not to stick around in hotel rooms for long and prefer to go and see things hence we don't spend a huge amount on a fancy hotel - a clean room and bathroom does us just fine and some of (3/4) of the hotels chucked in a breakfast as well
Funny thing is the Marriott we were in at Zurich worked out at the same price compared to the not very nice place we had in Geneva I think purely due to location which was around a 5-10 minute walk from the main station in Zurich

Visited Budapest and Belgrade last year. Nice places to visit. Serbia is one of the cheapest countries I have ever been too. I guess the same would be for Montenegro if you want to include that as an separate country.

Great time to go. Did a wedding on Amalfi coast on October 1st and it was great.

Went to Florence in November too, needed a light coat but wasn't too cold, like England really.

Incredible photo I think I am sold on Italy did you travel via train across the country what train did you use?

My brother come back from Budapest few weeks ago look a great place, not heard much on Serbia but Kotor in Montengero looks a stunning place

I went 3 separate times.

First time is just Rome for 4 days (late October)
Second time was Florence and then I did day trips to Pisa and Bologna (November) I just bought a ticket at the station, was easy I recall. I found everything i needed by google something like "Florence to Bologna train times"
3rd time was Amalfi coast for 3 days for a wedding (early October)

Remember to validate your tickets in Italy, just like most of Europe.

Check out the Scandinavia contiki trip, just got back from one two weeks ago and it was incredible. I chose the one that ends in Stockholm and lasts 9 days but for £500 extra you can see Helsinki too.

Whatever you do I recommend Norway for sure, although you might have to hire a car or something if you plan on seeing the fyords etc which is what it's all about.

For me Oslo was outstanding and I preferred it over Copenhagen, I'd recommend a bike tour for sure as you'll be amazed by the multitude of landscapes ;)

But anyway some scenic photos of Norway:

Amazing photos did you do the Russia part? unfortunately not available in the dates of my holiday but one to think for the future how was going with a group you have never met have not done this type before.

Budapest is a great place, I know a few people who live locally so perhaps that has added a bit to my holidays over there but it is both a great city to visit as a family or couple and a great party city too... have had plenty of trips over there now through the past few years, know my way around pretty well and frankly it is probably much safer to go wandering around backstreets over there checking out new bars etc.. than it is in parts of London - can't recommend it enough tbh...

Thanks, no I don't think anyone did actually lol but quite a few ended in helsinki.

Some people had been travelling before the trip and some carried on after, I guess they had quit their job or had just finished studying etc but was a good mix of ages, worth nothing contiki is age restricted to 18-35 years old though!

Was a fully booked group of 50, 25-30 would probably be better but the former makes sense from a costs perspective I guess. Was a right mix of personalities and best part is you then have contacts with people from all over the world. Quite a few Australlians which is the norm for these trips but we were fortunate enough to have people from 10 different countries.

Also in love with Italy - Tuscany is beautiful - drop by Luca if you can, nice little city and Cinque Terra to the north definitely worth visiting (if you visit Vernazza there's a great little restaurant 'Belforte' with beautiful views and fantastic food)

Can also recommend Norway - Oslo - went their recently and it's a fantastic city - perfect for a weekend maybe not a week.

I'd be tempted to try Norway -> Sweden -> Finland if you fancy a journey (did Denmark->Sweden->Finland a few years back and that was really fun - I loved the ferry from Stockholm over to Finland - recently beautiful travelling through the stockholm archipelago)
