Wasn't that the same place everyone else had been overtaking all race though. It was tight for everyone who tried. Hammy should have done the sensible thing and given Maldo room, his tires were dead he had no chance of keeping him behind and 3rd is better than a dnf.

You shouldn't have to yield just so that the other car doesn't ram you off the track!
