European Language

I tried to do Japanese but I couldn't really get in to it. However, I'm finding Spanish brilliant. I hope to visit South America for hols.

Merhaba!

I'm learning Turkish which is dead easy to learn (compared to French, which I did at school).

Turkey is one of the fastest growing economies right now, and soon enough they will join the EU. Also living and visiting for holiday in Turkey is awesome.

If I were you I'd consider Turkish.

If you want to impress women learn French
If you want to be able to communicate effectively whilst playing DOTA2, learn Russian.
If you want career opportunities learn Spanish.
If you want career opportunities in ten years learn Portuguese (Brazil).
If you want a headache learn Mandarin.

Thanks guys, think i'll give German a go then.

Know it's Hypocritical to be thinking of leaving the UK in response to an influx of migrant workers, but my time spent on the continent has shown German people to have much better manners, whether that's just the part i visited or not, i don't know...

Much better road manners and a polite nation in general i found.

Thanks for everyone's input, appreciated!

I chose my second language based on how hot the women are. This is only strengthened by the fact my 30 something russian teacher is a total babe.

Don't forget, if you want to hire workers in the UK, learn Polish.

Having superrvised a shift of 30 odd peope, 80%+ of which were Polish...I'd take Polish over English any day of the week. They work hard, they're always willing to do overtime, they do as asked, they're always willing to stay on an hour to finish up, they're not vain little munchkins etc

Hell, I'd take pretty much any nationality over English (except Portugese..they're lazier then the English)

You must be the type that screams "dey b stealin our jerbs innit!!!1"

just because they are easier to exploit doesn't mean they are better workers.

I only employ english people who will do the job properly without cutting corners and there is no need for overtime because they get the job done within normal working hours
