Eurovision Song Contest 2016 - 10th, 12th and 14th May

Ours isn't bad. Much better than some of the drivel we've sent the past 10 years. But this year they have a new scoring system so no-one knows what will happen. The days of anyone getting nil points might be over.

Agreed. It's a lot better than some of the rubbish we've entered over the last few years. It's a catchy pop song, and no worse than many of the other songs that are similar.

My favourite so far is Georgia. I've always liked the Georgian entries.

This song is different to all the others, reminds me of Oasis and has a mad light show in the middle. I imagine it's what being on drugs is like. :D

Was expecting an alien spaceship to hover above the stage and beam them up. So of the effects during performances just take a lot away from the real performance of the group or singer.

The running order for the Grand Final - moved to first post.

It's good that we are near the end as it will still be fresh in voters' memories.

I like it too. Hopefully it will do well. Makes a nice change from the dance based ones, which have become a kind of 'safe bet' choice for so many after Sweden's dance song wins in 2013 and last year. Can't blame them I guess for going with what's popular, but it's always good to have entries that don't go with the norm.

Something that I wasn't aware of is the amount of winners that were sung in English. Thinking about it though, I guess it's no surprise that entries sung in English have had the most success; 30, and French second with 14. Other languages are some way back with Dutch coming next with 3. I suppose that's why so many are sung in English now, what with so many countries taking it quite seriously, compared to many years ago, when it was just a bit of a laugh and fun.

I can't stand the woman but I thought she was a globally renowned artist loved by 99.9% of the planet's population. :D

I can't stand her or her music, but even if I could she's not Eurovision fodder at all. Needs to be upbeat and happy, not disgustingly whiny :)

All the bookmakers have this song coming in last!!
Not really mu cup of tea tbh.

I do much prefer the Australian and Armenia songs than the supposed Russian winning one, an evil side of me sort of wants the Russian one to win though just to see how Russia will handle coach loads of LGBTQ's invading their o so intolerant country next year !!

I would like Australia to win (if Georgia has no chance!) but they can't host so it goes to the runner up, which could then be Russia. So Russia has all the expense but only 2nd prize.

The Israeli singer had his passport ripped up by Russian immigration when he went to perform at a Eurovision preview event there. So god knows how the fans will get treated if the actual singers get homophobic abuse.

First time I've heard Russia's entry as I didn't see the first semi, and what do you know, the favourite is yet another dance number that is predictably like previous dance winners. Agree with above, it's lame.

Would be great if the critics get it completely wrong. I wonder when the last time that happened?

I have a soft spot for Belgium's entry. I like the disco vibe and Laura Tesoro performed it really well in the semi.

It'll be carnage. I can't wait.

Yeah I like Belgium's entry as well but I don't think it would be fair for them to win considering the bassline is a complete 'another one bites the dust' rip off!! lawl

Yes, I was pleased that Belgium got the last spot in semi-final 2. It's a catchy number.

This is the new voting system explained -

French entry isn't bad this year, it's usually awful:

Over 6mil views, highest I could find (for what it's worth)

Russia has it in the bag this year  Thunder, lightning and a drenching of liberal tears, expect lots of boos in the audience when Russia gets 12 points :D
