Commuting is a business purpose?

If commuting to and from your place of work is a business purpose and treated as such, then i guess i should be getting paid for my commuting time and be able to get business leases/tax breaks on the purchase of it etc?

They can't have it both ways.
Nope, opposite way around. Commuting is classed as personal use so by definition free charging at work becomes a taxable benefit.

It's small numbers but if they start to pay more attention to it and your employer wants to play ball then offering free charging becomes a pain in their back side. You can guess where that might lead to.

Anyway, this is all crystal ball gazing, just take advantage while you can but I wouldn't be 100% reliant on it long term.

I’m planning to view this vehicle tomorrow or Monday:
Tesla Model 3 Performance – RS Vehicle Sales

Been chatting with them over facebook, been sent some photos.

Finance is already in place, with the intention to settle it quickly once I’ve sold my BMW 440i privately—assuming I go ahead with the purchase.

I previously bought my Mazda 3 MPS from this dealership and kept it for over six years, so I’m confident in returning to them again.

The car recently had its alloys refurbished in what I believe is a matte anthracite finish, now fitted with Hankook ION EVO tyres. It looks great from the photos.

Key highlights:
  • Enhanced Autopilot
  • Registered: September 2022
  • Tesla manufacturer warranty valid until September 2026
  • Freshly tinted windows
Looking forward to seeing it in person—very excited about this one.

I wasn't expecting it until well into next month at least, but got the call on Tuesday to say it had just arrived and would be ready to collect today. Really happy with how the blue and gold combo turned out, and sort of compliments the yellow on the seats too. I think I know what I'll be doing this weekend. :D

They've not done a good job cleaning it from the photos, the door shuts etc are grubby, but that's purely cosmetic.

I'd be 100% replacing those wood effect trims with something better.. you can get alcantara ones (dash and door trims) for £250 which look a lot nicer..

Being under warranty helps not worry so much, so hopefully it works out, the performance will be immense when you first floor it!

Yea, their cleaning has much to be desired. Especially as it's a black car.
I'll get my mobile valeting chap to come clean it if I buy it.

I've seen the trims you can get that just clip over the old ones. Will see how

Congrats!

I went and had a look at one this morning. The front part of the interior is exceptionally good. What a lovely place to sit.

It would be a fantastic second car and it ticks a lot of my boxes, but I just don’t think I could live with that limited rear space. I’m not particularly tall at 178cm, but I wasn’t able to sit behind myself comfortably.

If I was single I’d put up with it, but with a wife and kid it’s much more difficult to convince yourself that it’ll work in the long term.

Hope it brings you many miles of smiles :)

Yeah the front is superb, feels very driver-focused with the display and controls tilted towards you, and the seats are decently comfortable and supportive, much more so than my Leon.

Space in the rear behind the driver is hilariously limited, I don't think anyone would be able to sit behind me either, though I can sit behind myself on the passenger side at least. I rarely have rear passengers and only use the back seats for shopping bags or the cat carrier so it's no problem for me and means the boot is still a decent size, but as a family car I think you're right that it'd be more problematic. There's always the R4 to consider, it's of course a different thing entirely on the outside (I like it, but I don't love it like the R5) but you get more room in the rear with the same interior quality.

The R4 is hideous though. I'm not keen on the R5 exterior either, but I can see it has it's charm and doesn't look too bad.

The R4 though.....yikes.

Does anyone own, or have opinions on, an Audi Q4 E-tron? The wife has seen a few of these around and likes the look of them. It'd only be used around town and for the school run etc. Any advice would be appreciated.
Better options around. I don't think Audi EV's are at the same level compared to other non-European manufacturers who have been making EV's for much longer.

I’m not sure if that’s true. My mum has one and while it may not be as feature rich as other brands, the build quality and drive is very quite nice.

It’s a great overall package if you don’t value any one particular thing over another.

My sister has one.
Constant software bugs.

Charging network is poor in areas.

I drove home from down south, in a model Y. Stopped twice, 10mins each time.
She had to stop twice, an hour each time. Ha

Can’t comment on your sisters but given the issues I’ve had with my ID.7 in terms of software, my mums Q4 has been excellent. She hasn’t had any issues at all.

Not sure the charging network is specific to the Q4 though - it’s more of a non-Tesla issue.

No software issues on my Q8 Etron, couple of build quality issues that will be sorted under warranty, efficiency is terrible.

Charges quickly on a decent charger.
