EV general discussion

The downside of EOn is low solar export rates so if that’s a factor, the maths is more complex. If it’s not a factor then it’s cheaper than octopus.

new EON next drive tariff. 4.99p per kWh between 00-06.

Tempted to change. Standing charge is the same 60p on the electric and the peak hours are fractionally cheaper too 27.65p vs 27.67p.
5.99p /kWh for Next Drive Fixed for me but still tempted to make the jump. Especially as I'm also on Octopus Tracker for Gas which as you can imagine is rather spendy at the moment :o.

- 1.4p / kWh (or there abouts) for Gas for however long Trump is swinging his sausage in Iran
- 2.5p / kWh for electricity overnight, plus I would get 6 cheap hours instead of my current 5
- 1.5p / kWh for daytime electricity

I doubt the April 1st rate drop from Octopus will match that and I don't bother with the free coffees anymore. I'll give it some consideration at least!

I’ve changed since I was already on the higher standing charge, night tariff a good bit cheaper. However, when you lock it in it shows a much higher price in the app. Currently discussing this with a customer service rep. They don’t understand either.

Would be a good price to lock in for 12 months given the incoming issues. Also no exit fee?

Shame they don’t still do until 7am, but was on 6am anyway with their recent change.

Better than the 6.5, 28.5 for electricity and 6 I am on for gas. Gas daily charge cheaper too.

Nice heads up, I've just switched to v17 tariff.
For me, 5.99per kwh 0-6am and 28.08 6am till midnight.
The peak was 0.32 p higher than current tariff but my usage split is in favour of 2 evs vs the house as such.
Plus the gas is lower, every penny counts :p

I'll smile a little bigger when I go past the petrol stations:eek:

I’m told they’ll just reverse my tariff back if the new one isn’t actually cheaper as advertised.

Edit: Doesn’t start until April, so they have amended the start date for me :)
