Used and runaround. We've been toying with keeping the smax and getting a little run around like that or simply getting a full on EV replacement. We've fallen for the Jaecoo 5 EV after driving today.

If you are looking at the Jaecoo 5, then the PCH lease deals are way better than the PCP unless the specific deals does you a custom offer. You can get the Jaecoo 5 Luxury 61kWh for £333 with 8k miles PA, nothing upfront 1+47 profile. £16k TCO, or 4k per year, the PCP deals they have are significantly worse. £18.2k for 48 months with only 6k miles PA, and you need to find £4,750 upfront, also AFAIK the PCH offer includes the VED for the 2, 3 and 4th year. so another £585 saving.

What was the issue you had with the E-C3? It would have only ever been a run around for the wife so would sort her out just fine for local runs. Couldn't fault the test drive to be honest.

Jaecoo 5 is absolutely our fav though. We did have a poke at the Omoda 9...really wish we hadn't lol

Ha. I just realised it was the DS3, slept since then! Think the e-C3 fixed a great many issues. We ordered the Frontera 44kWh equivalent in Ultimate spec for a family member as it was only £165 per month on PCH with nothing upfront. It's actually not too bad, don't think I'd commit to one right now as a purchase when you'll be able to get one used for £9k in a couple of years, so the lease was the best option

Fair enough, do your sums on the Sal Sac as sometimes it's higher than what you'd pay after tax, but depends on exactly what is included.

I've put a deposit on a Peugeot e5008. Throughly depressing but seems like a good car for everyday family life and my kids are excited about it being a 7 seater. For £337 and no deposit and 8k miles a year I think it's a good deal for what it is. I did look at hybrids but I am firmly in the EV camp for daily driving. I really wanted a Smart #5 but wanted a good deal more than anything else.

It's a great deal, and sometimes that's good enough. You could use the savings on some solar and battery installation for your house if you don't have any already.

Comes out at £272 a month net on our scheme, including 5 driver insured, tyres, maintenance, recovery etc

Wife needs a new car and been considering a Kia Niro E. Have been out to test drive a few and they seem like the most sensible and best value purchase in the 12-15k range, especially considering the spec and range.

Out of curiosity went and saw an Ionic 5 and everything just felt a bit of a step up. Much nicer interior, more space bit more refined. Just means spending an extra few thousand. EV6 seems just bit more than I'd be willing to spend on an EV at the moment.

Should probably go with the head and get the Niro.
