as others said, keep it - unless it's a lease ? presumably you are doing the miles if it is a disel so phev limited range maybe less interesting,
honda e-tech phev (like nissan/renault upcoming ones) with more range extender type architecture looks innovative/efficient but well above £20K
Cheers i did think that, don't get me wrong it's a good car economically and reliability wise it's amazing but i miss the grunt.
i used to drive a skoda octavia VRS 1.8t but due to it's age 2003 model just had endless problems i went for a diesel. I was thinking of the Fiesta ST but i have a feel they would be ragged to ** Please fully star swear words **.

You'll def pay over the odds just now for a second hand ST. The lead time on them was massive.

I'm currently waiting to get an extended drive in a c40 while I can access free charging and the BIK is stupidly low. Mad lead times are slightly off putting but not much available on the market that is any better really.
The big "problem" I have at the moment is getting a single motor version of this (or a polestar or xc40) to actually drive, I want to check the lower powered car isn't hugely disappointing from a performance perspective while most demo cars are understandably the twin motor version

Interesting is one word, I'd call those numbers brutal.
Outside of the cult of Elon, very few would have predicted this just a few years ago. The Model 3 is pretty much outselling its ICE competitors combined across both hatch and saloon. We won't see the same with the Model Y as it's a much bigger segment but I do expect to see it topping sales charts in 2022.
vw group is is now #1 ev sales company in europe - just a diverse portfolio of cars - I linked it earlier. I thought stellantis platform is also outselling tesla eu, too ...

But of course, in Europe the only Tesla you could buy, until the recent launch of the Y, was the Model 3. To be fair to the other manufacturers you would have to out their entire sales into one lump, rather than looking at a tiny subset of the total. Roll on all cars being evs.

Agreed, roll on all cars being BEV (for my own sanity please install more public chargers though!!!)
As I said, the Model Y will not achieve the same because the segment is much larger with far more models at an overall higher volume. I still expect it to top the sales charts though because it will be the only BEV shipping in big volumes and other manufacturers will have their sales split between their ICE and BEV offerings.
Being top of the sales charts does actually matter though as it builds momentum and drives additional sales from the general public.
You’d have to be crazy to think Tesla is going to outsell someone like VAG in terms of overall sales across all their brands though. Some of the cult do believe that which is worrying.
I'm definitely a fan but also do my research rather than just get all excited if someone dares to criticise the cult of Tesla.
One channel worth following on YT for well researched data is The Limiting Factor. Due to Tesla being more vertically integrated and making deals further up the battery supply chain the squeeze on battery supply hasn't started to slow Tesla so far. Lithium material cost has massively spiked recently and Nickel supply is expected to hit a crisis in the next couple of years. Those that have been able to sign longer term supply contracts will fair better but even the price LFP batteries has recently risen to parity or slightly higher than Nickel based it appears.
Helped by the cult leader saying that 1 in 3 cars sold worldwide will be a Tesla by 2030.

I'm still hoping D bev returns - just for the aerodynamic energy saving versus SUV format ... how long before chancellor does look at bev efficiency.
the definition of competitor, if you incorporate BIK effect for the 50-66% bevs sold to fleet buyers, has widened Mod3 penetration beyond D-hatch/saloon category,

I looked into the Passat. Read up on gearbox having issues and the range being quite poor.
It put me off tbh. This was the plug in hybrid.
Tbh range wont be issue as work is around 22miles and we have a plug in at the office, is the gearbox just for the passat and on what engine size? or is it because of the Automatic.
However most cars i've looked at have pretty poor reliability wise unless you go Japanese.
