Need to understand your range and charging requirements before recommending anything!
Best value will be any of the MG’s.
 
Polestar and the c40 from that list look very good value, though don't forget the lead times are epic at the moment in both (well into 2023).

Tbh I wouldn't dismiss the ZS if you're looking for a bigger car than a Corsa/208 but trying to pay less, genuinely pretty good all round and surprisingly "nice" inside. I hated the looks of the mg5 but again they're supposed to be good cars

Not business use, just personal. 4 days a week I do 18 miles, rest of the week could be anything depending on what we're doing. So could be 30 miles to a NT place or 150 to a Welsh beach or nothing if my daughter fancies throwing up all weekend. :D

Yeah I can imagine lead times are quite long. I'm having an operation on my knee at the end of the month so I might not be driving for quite some time so that wait might not be too bad.

Check mileage - is that Arval? Default mileage for me was 10k but that turned out to be 10k over the 3 year lease!
 
Ah brill..that's super competitive. Note that very few will actually be available lol. I ended up with the 3008 because they had one in stock.
 
I'm keeping my eye on EV's a bit more. We're down to a one car house now, so when that goes pop we'll be getting a new car and I'd like to go fully electric.

Problem for me after a quick search is the lack of boot space. Having two paddleboards, a tent and a load of gear for the kids isn't going to squeeze into many of the current crop (model s excluded).

Anything coming on the horizon worth looking out for?
 
There are loads of EV's with plenty of boot space - most of them are crossover style vehicles so larger than a regular car anyway and even cars like the BMW i4 are essentially large hatchbacks with significant amounts of boot space.

It's the plug in hybrid models which tend to less boot space.
 
Rule of thumb for me is - if it is a "proper EV" i.e. Tesla, Polestar (?) versus a "ICE derived EV".

My ICE derived EV - the 3008, has a pretty crap boot. It has no spare wheel well really.
 
Even the model 3 has a massive boot and you can put on a roof rack if you really need it.

Sure the boot opening isn’t huge but short of furniture, there isn’t anything you can’t get in it, plus a frunk.

PS the polestar and the i4 are modified ICE platforms but they are just a big cars anyway so they have big boot to match.

Yeah I did put question mark on Polestar. Some proper EV platforms though are clearly working without the same constraints and have frunks etc..

you're deriding it, but it's not much down on a model 3 despite being ice derived ~ both circa 400L seat up ?
getting a washing machine, or several bikes with front wheel removed is my criteria for acceptability, my old vectra hatch was better than 3 series touring in this respect.
