EV general discussion

So Polestar launched the P4 SUV (Estate)

I think it looks great, and for me looking to reduce my monthly car spend, the standard spec model is perfect. It even comes standard with a heated steering wheel, pilot assist, pano roof and privacy glass which most other brands still charge extra for :)
Just waiting for it to load onto our car portal to place the order.

competitor - if you are not bored with bmw, isn't the bmw ix3 40 imminently available, a next generation 800v platform.
The iX3 is much more expensive, by about £150 per month, and you need to add options which the P4 comes standard.
The P4 has 380 mile WLTP range, and 200kW charging, which is easily enough for me

Just because I like to remind myself how crap my scheme is, whilst I only have the 4 Coupe to compare with, it's a £2010 gross reduction

edit - though I am intrigued as to what the arrangement is that leads to them listing reduced pension contributions as a 'saving' - that feels a bit cheeky?

On mine:

POLESTAR 4 4 ESTATE

200kW 100kWh Rear Motor Business 5dr Auto 2027
£906.07 (Gross cost before tax implications)

400kW 100kWh Dual Motor Business 5dr Auto 2027

£987.44 (Gross cost before tax implications)

NHS Fleet. So because my gross wage reduces by £1031 I'm now not paying the 12.5% pension contribution i would have been on my previous gross wage? To be fiar i only looked at the bottom right figure, i'm pretty much maxed out with pension pots and need a way to reduce my "60% tax trap" liability. The 2 cars i've got on sacrifice take me just under that rate.

That Polestar looks ok in a generic 'this is how cars look now' sort of way.

At least it isn't offensive looking though and I assume the tragic looking text they put on the corner of the front doors is a sticker that can be peeled off.
