Evening wedding reception - What to wear?

Get your missus to cut the legs of off your trousers, just below the knee and sew in zips. Then you can wear trousers for the actual wedding part and just zip the bottoms of when you feel the need. :D

It's hired from a place called L&J Formal Hire in Sandbach, they've ordered around 10 monkey suits.

Looking forward to 'the happiest day of your daughters life' then? :p

It will be excellent once I get on the Guinness and they can just leave me in my wheelchair.

Another one for smart casual. I've had the unfortunate pleasure of attending some weddings where some of the evening guests felt it suitable to turn up in a full tracksuit.

By the evening, most of the people who are suited have left their jackets on the back of chairs, so it's just the difference between a shirt and a waistcoat.

How about asking the couple what they want?

Since this is GD:

You should go naked. Nudity symbolises honesty in the marriage - nothing is hidden - so everyone should be naked for the wedding and the reception.

EDIT: OK, I see that the spouse you know is saying that everyone should wear what they want. Take them at their word. Wear what you want. Whatever that is. Suit, dress, chainmail, Spiderman outfit, whatever.

I went to a wedding a couple of years ago which was 'wear what you want'. Everyone turned up in smart-casual (shirt, smart jeans etc.) apart from one guy who turned up in a t-shirt and casual shorts.

Don't be that guy.

If you've only been invited to the evening do they obviously don't think much of you so wear what ever you are comfortable in.

jeans and a tshirt :p

all the evening wedding events I went to were just a big hall with music and chairs and a crap buffet though.
then people doing the conga around the streets and back inside etc :D

wait is doing the conga considered racist or cultural appropriation?
