My desktop keeps freezing. The system doesn't reboot as the code suggest below but freezes and has to be rebooted manually. I have read lots of info about the code at Microsoft and various other sources but none of it seems to work or make sense.. Anyone got any idea's please?

Code 41 is just an after the fact type "something went wrong" notification and won't itself narrow down what the cause is - are there any other warnings in the event logs around the same time?

The most likely cause will be unstable/failing RAM or too high a CPU overclock. Your first port of call should be to see if the system passes Memtest 86.

Never been overclocked. I will try Memtest 86 tonight, thanks.
