Ever destroyed a GPU by dusting it?

Hmm, im maybe gonna stop hoovering out my rads now, been doing that for like 15 years without killing anything but like you said youve done it for years without a problem. I guess its like crossing the road, ya can do it for years without a problem then one day splat.

A lot of the time when i turn on my new PC I get a static discharge when my finger touches the power button. Doesn't happen on any other PC in the house.

Demciflex and positive pressure = no problem with dust. However I do take components out once a year and give them a dust down with a painters brush and a vacuum with brush attachment. If those Datavacs weren't so damn expensive I think every computer enthusiast would buy one as they seem really good. Oh and I clean the Demciflex filters once a week though ;) But have I ever destroyed a GPU by dusting it? No, I'm not a **** :P

Don't ever hoover a circuit board. You can hoover the out side of your case as its grounded but never go near any circuits with it.

I always get a static shock when hovering the stairs, card is toast am afraid. :(

This was the same problem hoovering CRT displays. Not so much killing it but it caused other problems with the colours.

Have always used a hoover.

In the 25 years I've been messing with PC's its never once hurt anything.

Admittedly its with a fine paint brush and hoover is 2/3cm away

Wow! Hover..

No way i would put that near my rig lol sounds like a bad idear..

My refrence Titan X did sound like a hover though with the fan.. Lucky i got a hybrid cooler made it quite now

Ha funny you say that now, though luckily both of my PCs work after just cleaning them.

Received this today https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00S7CH6FK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00X9DPHDK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
That in one hand and hoover in other hand to catch all the dust that gets blown out. :)

When cleaning graphics card I let go of the hoover and used my spare hand to hold fans in case they spin too fast. That duster is strong. :)

Never thought that could be that much dust in the case. :D Though I didn't clean or use my old PC for over a year and only decided to get it cleaned and working again so I can't give it to my nephew.
