Ever fallen out with a neighbour?

In my experience police/council etc. wont come out unless it's a regular occurance. Ringing them about a one-off is a complete waste of time.

Well if the council fail to investigate a nuisance complaint, they are in breach of their duty.

I know that my local council investigate one-off complaints because I had to use them recently for the first time ever, but then every council is different.

*Sigh*, remind me why you bother to post again?

Nice to hear that you're staying level headed and civil, it's the only way things like this get out of hand. Good luck, neighbours from hell can make your whole life a misery.

It's safe to say that his neighbours are CHAVS, devoid of any reasoning or neighbourly respect. Any decent person would have thought to themselves ' fair enough its midnight my music is loud the guys trying to get some sleep'

(No i take that back :p any normal decent person wouldnt even think of playing loud music at that time anyway.)

Goto the council or the police and you will get called something like a 'dirty grass' and/or your property will get vandelised

Who said anything anything about sitting through it? As i see it the OP went round when the noise annoyed him sufficiently, and although the guy moaned behind his back, he turned it down. So the OP is just pissy because the guy said something behind his back?

Except it wasn't behind his back, was it? I think that's the thing that caused the guy to post.

Yes of course, becuase thats why he apologied the day after.

There's no point blowing this out of proportion. If it was every night it'd be different, but it's not.

My experience is that to be a 'nuisance' it has to be a regular occurance. When i was at Uni our neighbours were obviously out and their fire alarm went off, and proceeded to go off all night (literally until 10am when someone came back). We'd phoned the police a number of times asking for what we can do, and whether they can send someone round. Their best was asking us if we wanted to report a break-in (which we didnt because we knew the alarm was faulty). They wouldnt send anyone round.

No need for the rolleyes. Regardless whether it was said behind his back or not, he should be able to just let it go. Easy to say in my position, but hey.

At lesat it was all sort of worked out in the end and you dont hate each other.

When my parents were away my mate brough his subs up and that got my neighbour(to the right) battering my front door with a floor brush!

She pulled me up the next day, face like thunder, and blamed the bass for her crystal vibrating off the top of her tv.

You don't have to be a chav to be inconsiderate, i've known plenty of non-chavs who display the same lack of consideration towards neighbours and partied well into the small hours.

Ever fallen out with a neighbour?

Yes, after a house party they got the police round due to "noise pollution" and when the police knocked on the door they never even came in.

I think so...

We reckon our next door neighbours new bf has slashed my dad's tire twice now, and they both happened on the only 2 occasions when we parked oh so slightly across in front of their house because some other van was the other side...

This was after the other day when my dad had trimmed their hedge for them while he was doing ours (goes between our houses) but forgot to clear up the clippings on their side, and he came round and ***** and blinded about it for quite some time.

We live in a nice quiet area of crowthorne. All the houses in our little close are owned by retired people bar a twenty something girl, and a thirty something "professional" couple.

We have been here for 3 years and get on very well with all out neighbours except for the old women who lives next door. Over the past 3 years she has complained numerous times to our managing agent (we rent btw) about everything from our pre-term baby crying to me washing my car (on our drive!). She even complained to the local council noise police about our baby crying at 3am one night.

As luck would have it my aunt works for the managing agent and apparenlty they have a good laugh each time this women complaines. She is under the impression that we are a "chav" family which is very very far from the truth.

Also I work for an outsoucing company who provided on-site it support from my local council. When we heard about the complaint (my aunt called to let us know) I had a chat with the noise department and again they laughed about it as they don't do anything about baby crying unless they feel that there is a care issue.

At times this women has had by wife in tears because she shouts abuse over the hedge, and makes our lives hell. At one point we actually started to worry that she would call the social services because our youngest (who is now 2 1/2) was teething and crying all night.

We have now decided that enough is enough and are moving out of the area in 9 days time. Although it's not all because of this women, it was certainly one of the deciding factors. That and the fact that we have just inherited a 6 bedroom house with swimming pool, hot tub and wooden cabin (my new office!) on the Isle of Wight :)

You don't want that big old thing, sell it to me for a fair price.

I argue with my neighbours all the time, i find going out and shouting.........

"Wheres ya ****ing tool" !!!!!!!!!!

Always works

Yep, still have.

Bit of background. When i was a kid we used to play football in the street, yes there were cars around, but with me being young i had to stay outside my home. Now, a few doors along used to come out screaming and shouting, even when we kept the ball on the deck just kicking it around at short shots, he used to come out and threaten to "break my %&*^ing legs and feed my head to the dogs", bare in mind i was probably around 10ish and hes swearing at me.

Now, he has kids, and his kids are out in the street playing football, and 10 years on theres considerably more cars parked in the street. So what do we do, we tell them to shift, and do they? do they hell. Every time they are out im watching like a hawk waiting for a ball to whack my car just so i can sting them with a dent removal bill.

When we were kids we used to get shouted at for being noisy in the street after 7pm by them, now they do flaming garden parties till 4am and couldnt give a stuff, yet 10 years ago they were struggling to get to sleep as we were chatting in the street at 7pm.

In short, we dont get on, never have and never will, they think they runt eh street and try to tell everyone what to do, unfortunately peopel are now turning round and laughing at them and telling them where to go.

Sounds petty, but lets face it, petty things start huge arguments.

Ah bugger, i was going to offer you twice what you paid for it :(

I am currently depositing all the dog poo from my neighbours dog onto their front step during the night

They let it poo on the communal grass where kids play, and leave it?!

Now, i have no problem with them using it, but by not cleaning it up, its doing my nut in. I hope they get the point soon enough! Next time im posting it through the letter box!
