I've had this a couple of times now where no matter what I do google refuses to return any pages from wikipedia.

I even tried searching for "United Kingdom" then restricting the results with "site:wikipedia.org" still nothing.

Then all of a sudden several mins later it starts working again and wikipedia is back at the top of the search rankings.

i've had that happen approx 2 times in the whole of my life, however, was you aware that google are under law precedings about taking payments for making certain search results from companies higher than others?

I think google must have lost 1 or 2 of their best coders in all honesty or their best coders went on a bender and haven't stopped, recently i've been very let down with some of the results i've been getting when searching for stuff,

I'm not complaining about overclockers site but when you search for 1 item you don't expect the first 27 results all to be varies links within overclockers site/forums...
It was a bit beyond been funny after it did the exact same thing all on the same day a few times with various items i was searching for

I've just found out what causes this after it happened again.

Using firefox:
Going to google and searching works fine.
Highlighting some text then right clicking and selecting "search google for" sometimes screws up the results.

It must be something to do with search parameters being set. I'll try and find a different google search engine plugin and see if that fixes things.

That fixed it. I'd previously installed a "google uk" search engine addon so shopping results would come back in £ rather than $ after doing a right click "search google for" which must have been slightly broken.

In case anyone ever has the problem and finds this.

Installed another from http://mycroft.mozdev.org/search-engines.html?country=GB&language=en
Section "26. Major Engines" third down "Google UK- the Web"

If you do too many searches that google doesn't like it will flag you as a spammer/seo type and return funny results (or even ban your IP).
