Ever notice this? - Bus lanes

Driving along the other day, i noticed the bus lane could be used at that particular time.. however not a soul was doing that even though they'd beat a lot of traffic, are things so bad that we're scared to use them even during the allowed times?

People just assume that they are enforced 24/7. I regularly use the ones on the A6 heading from Stockport to Manchester, cuts an age off my journey, and its 100% legal at the times I do it

It's been going on a while now. Between the hours of 7pm and 7am iirc. They did it to ALL bus lanes here as far as I'm aware, and people still get hooted by drivers who still think it's illegal

Theres one on my way to work 7.30-9.30 AM, its funny seeing the que of numpties astras and picassos at 7.10 thinking there gonna get fined.

Over here most are for rush hour only but hardly anyone uses them the rest of the time. I use them when I can. Its funny seeing the reaction of those who cant read the signs.

I use bus lanes whenever I'm permitted.
I find it amusing that other drivers don't, especially when you consider that a large majority of them use the same roads day after day.

When driving in Liverpool I avoid them all at all times, they change with very little notice.

If I regularly used a large busy route with one, I'd make the effort to know the times, and use it to my advantage.

I save a LOT of time driving into London etc. when the bus lanes aren't in operation :cool:

Problem is a lot of people (strangely mostly BMW's with blacked out windows...) use them ALL the time.

Problem with the bus lanes in Darlington is that when they're not reserved for busses, all the van men think they can put their Park-Anywhere lights on and just sit there unloading. Which means you pull in to the bus lane (it's on a bend where you can't see further down the road) only to find there's a van down there and have to filter back in to traffic to pass it

in Aberdeen u can use them outside "rush hour" so they are only restricted during say 8am - 930am and 4pm - 630pm... otherwise its brmmm brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrmmmm!

I use bus lanes (when allowed) all the time, when in my truck I get lots of signs that hint I masturbate too much if you see what I mean.......

Sadly, a lot of people don't "drive" they simply operate cars like lemmings - bloody morons!

it's something thats so inconsistant it's hardly suprising that people use them at the wrong times or not at all.

They should all be buses only from 7:30 till 9:30 and 4:30 till 6:30 and that would solve a lot of the problems.
