So Ive just fitted my Tuniq Tower 120, and am just wondering if my temps seem ok.
I notice on Everest that there are two (well 3) temp readings. One for cpu, and two for the cores.
My E6600 idles at about 33C (CPU) and about 50ish each on the two core readings. (I think the CPU reading at load is about 47 max)

When people state their temp readings, are they referring to the single cpu temp, or the core temps? How do mine sound? (bearing in mind that the heatsink has only just been fitted, so I would expect the temps to go down a bit as the paste settles down)

Its best to read the 2 core temps instead of the one. Use it alongside coretemp too as that does not show the 'cpu' temp, it only shows the 2 cores to avoid confusion.

Your temps will start to drop a little but that could take up to 500+ hrs of usage before you see any difference. Depends on what paste you have used.

The core reading are taken from the cpu sensor whereas the CPU reading is taken from the motherboard socket iirc. Take the core temperature as the most accurate.

Ok, do those temps seem a bit high then? It's overclocked to 3Ghz at the mo, and the temps are at about 45ish idle to 60ish load.

I find everest and coretemp to read exactly the same so I would think they are as accurate your gonna get with software based monitors.
