Everest

probably a useless post, but personally id rather spend 40k travelling the world and seeing all there is to see enjoying myself, rather than climbing a large cold place just to say ive done it.

Id rather sit on my PC all day instead of doing the three peaks challenge in 22 hours just to say Ive done it.

-Scafel Pike

these are the best pictures i have and that are digital since they were taken by other people who have tagged me on facebook also scafell pike one is on a compleetly diffrent trip from the three peaks, my dad still refuses to use a digital camera....

also yes coming down ben nevis and going up and down scafell in the dark is shall we say amusing :P but snowdon in the light is beautiful

also extreme swimming just for another little e peen growth.

- Look in the top middle rightish that me and 2 mates in the middle of a massive lake.

ok epeen over now everest is doable if your fit enough i hope to do it one day and being 18 and going in the army i have a amazing chance of beating bear grylls as the youngest briton to summit it xD try running up and down one of the three peaks or doing the three peaks (in 24 hours) or if you have abit of money go do something that the others have suggested :) good luck :D

It's not just about saying 'I've done it' , it's about personal goals and pushing myself. I'll get the ball rolling first the evaluate things when I have more experience behind me.

I wonder what the stats are on getting frostbite and loosing certain extremities, it sounds like a once in a lifetime opportunity and challenge, but the risks for me unless i was completely hardcore or a nutter wouldnt warrant it for me, loosing toes fingers etc... quite a high chance :O

... your brain works wrong.

doesn't kilimanjaro have a higher fatality rate?:o

Climbed Kili years ago, the only way you're going to die is by being 3 days away from the pub, I think you have it confused with somewhere else.

Everest is no joke though, you could easily spend £150k+ in attempts over a few seasons and could die trying.

Radox - i did Scafel Pike when i was 14 as part of a school trip, best experiance of my life

tis a good mountain, what kind of school did you go to with cool trips like that ? wouldnt be alloud i dont think these days :(

also try ben nevis its a lot harder and is by far the hardest of the three. Ive done both routes up scafell and on a nice day the farm route with the lakes etc is amazing :) anyone whos been up ben nevis will confirm that the zig zag bit seems to go on forever and when you cant see because of the cloud/fog it is demoralising :P

I've done everest base camp, but it is completely commercial whats up there although it is an experience. Everest is a joke in terms of mountain climbing, typically the ropes are laid out by the porters so it s a matter of walking up a steep hill to the top. Unless you climb a different face then it becomes technical.

Im planning on joining one of the expeditions to climb one of the smaller Himalayan mountains when i go back to Nepal in a beginners style expedition to learn how to properly ice climb.

Leytonstone School

It was only a one time thing, i remember a lot of parents didn't give permission and i had to pay a largish fee. It was a camping trip and i remember a wonderful pub near by the base with a river running behind it, i can't remember the name. It was such an advanture and we drove there in a clapped out mini bus that nearly didn't make it there :p
