Everquest 2

After reading this thread its tempting me back to have another shot. I played it when it came out to approx lev 26 on Runneyeye in United Kingdoms (char was Dekima).

One quick question. If I get the expansion will I still be able to re-activate my old char or would I be forced to start again?

Cheers

Im giving it another go as well, due to this thread (thnx guys :( )

i last played on runnyeye, at least 6 months ago and it was like a ghost town in the commonlands and fallen gate or wailing caves.. problem is im torn; my shammy had pretty good crafting skills, he could make 16 slot pristine bags, and my predator could make .. errr... something else, but since ive ordered EoF im gonna try a fae AND use the free month code which means in effect making a brand new account.
So bye bye 16 slot bags and other things.

Is crafting as hard to level up now as it was say,4 months after retail?
and how do server populations compare between runnyeye and splitpaw??

tia.

Splitpaw has seen a major revival since the release of EoF

Crafting is much esier now that they have removed all the bits in between making somethng.

Transmuting and Tinkering has been introduced since EoF

Splitpaw here too, only been in Faydwer since it's release, and it's consistently packed. Freeport was always emptier than Qeynos anyway, no-one seemed to want to play an evil character. Pity, I always thought it was a lot cooler looking than the over-cutsey Qeynos.

Well since typing this on NOv 28th 2006. I've been playing constantly and am well and truely hooked. Even 2 months later i'm playing until sometime as late as 1.30 in the morning!

Dekima is now lev 51 Fury. She's nearly got enough status points to buy the spirit steed she's longed for :)

I have to say all the changes along with the expansion have made it really adictive. Can't wait to get home to get back online

All the best

I've recently quit EQ2. After being one of the top 3 in my class on the server (Wizard on Nagafen - to play on any other server is wrong btw!) it kinda gets a bit dull and I really don't want to grind another character! Didn't think the expansion was that brilliant either and PvP is still somewhat retarded in many ways.

Now EVE has sucked me in :( :p

Really weird how peoples opinions change.

Just when WoW had come out, I bought EQ2 instead (my first MMO). Posted on this forum to ask common noob questions - 'what is a instance', 'new to MMO's' etc etc etc, and everyone was slagging it off left right and center and saying go for WoW.

Now it seems that WoW is some what out of favour and EQ2 is discerning MMO game of choice.

Just thought I would say........ ;)

Incidentally - I now play WoW.

Though I have quit EQ2 because its got a little boring, I would never consider playing WoW. Its far, far worse :p

Like I said, EVE is where its at :D

As a pve game EQ2 is far superior to wow imo. Just didnt want to put the time in and saw it as a massive time sink which i didnt and still dont want at this time.

I've just cancelled my EQ2 account, I had 2 lvl 70 toons a Guardian (tank) and a Inquistor (healer), I've not tried a PVP server but have played a large ammount of the game. For me the recent expansion was poor and I had enough of the grinding. EQ2 is a great game but it had enough of my time.
