Eversolo Play

Tried disabling all windows enhancements and spaitial audio settings. Set output format to 16-bit 48kHz. Tried with the room correction EQ on and off. No difference. :( I've fed it back to Eversolo support.

Is there a direct mode on it, like bypass? Something is adding latency
Can't see one :( I tried disabling the EOS audio engine. Made no difference.

Only other thing I have to try is to remove the Nahimic Companion app on the PC?

Nahimic removed along with DTS Sound Unbound. No change. Does feel like an amp issue and not a "me" issue lol.

An update. :)

Eversolo support have said that "this may be caused by decoding time requirements, leading to audio-video desynchronization during playback. The resolution isn't available at this time, but we've reported this to our R&D team."

I'm not really happy with that, especially as there is no time frame for a fix. Given the connectivity options exist I am disappointed this was never picked up or considered. I appreciate though that the streamer is probably aimed more at music than video. But it isn't out of the realm of possible usage.

Richer Sounds are amazing though as always. Going to let me try a WiiM Amp for connectivity to my PC. If there is no latency issues with that, the plan is to give the WiiM Amp back and the Eversolo Play. I'll then go with the WiiM Amp Pro and attach separately the WiiM Ultra for streaming. I can then just choose the source from the WiiM Amp Pro if I want to use it for my PC or flick it over for the music and streaming side of things.

I will get the WiiM Amp to test with on Friday.

Fingers crossed.

Lots of folks use the Wiim on desktop type setups so I bet it's fine, I also bet the reason Eversolo never factored in AV sync is because there's no USB input so they probably just thought it would be used for audio only and saves them some time until enough people notice and kick up a fuss.

Thats a shame, must have a lot of processing even when you disable all EQ etc.

Not an issue with playing a CD etc but yes when it's video based source. I guess only solution is to delay video? (which cannot be done with gaming) Most have audio delay but that would make it worse.

I haven't tried my wiim ultra from the TV or computer so I don't know what delay there is

Audio delay would make it worse though? If audio is already out by 300 ms, then adding more delay will increase that.

Thanks both. Are the WiiM Amp Pro and WiiM Ultra solid choices? Getting ahead of myself I know but I've skimmed the spec's and they seem good!

Wiim Ultra is a DAC/streamer/phono pre amp/pre-amp/headphone amp only. Doesn't have speaker ampifers.

Seems decent, although I don't use the app, apart from initial setup and for the room EQ feature (UMIK1) changing speaker PEQ presets.

I use LMS on a raspoberry pi.

Couple of things

Would prefer 6.5mm headphone socket.
Also headphone socket is apparently not that great.
Screen could be bigger, it's a bit useless
Would like IR remote control
And also ability to control the unit from the touchscreen itself like Squeezebox touch can.

I use a Wiim Pro Plus as a DAC for my TV and don't get any latency issues.
Thanks that's great. I did log a support ticket also with WiiM and they say there is a 50ms delay but that it shouldn't be noticeable and it can't be changed.

I find when it's around 300ms it becomes noticeable. Had to correct for the video processing in upscaling DVD player. Back then before BD and auto lip sync you had to manually adjust sync

WiiM demo Amp arrived today, and it was spot on. No noticeable delays between audio/video when playing some YouTube content. So I'll look to go down that route, and return the Eversolo unit. :)

Have to give credit to Wiim for frequent firmware updates, free room EQ etc, works with my UMIK 1

new feature seperate high pass and low pass settings, before you had to use the same for both
