Every bootup it does a checkdisk now... (started a few days back)

Besides that no probs. I have Avira, MSE & Windows Defender no alerts from them. Also I have DiskCheckup, no warnings there. The drive is maybe 1 1/2 year old. Have XP home.

Do you let the disk check complete? I'd be backing up now just in case.

Tes, it completes, but does it again next boot. Once I get into Windows, everything is fine. I did have a mut for UT3 uninstalled around the time it started.

same thing happens on my work pc. It's due to me recovering a directory to it which is corrupt. The directories and files/folders it contains can't be deleted due to the corruption no matter what program i use, and scandisk's can't fix the issue. a royal p.i.t.a

I know there is an issue with Avira and Windows 7 with a scan disk at every boot - might be worth removing that to check.

Hmmm ok, when I first installed Avira it didn't do it.

I'm not sure if its with one of the updates, all that I know is that it can be linked - unsure if it affects non-Windows 7 machines, though.
