I do, I'm close to a point where I might put the car up for sale. Yes it's only a Vauxhall but its by the far the most expensive thing I own and its been the only car I've had thats as close as possible to mint bar a dodgey repair on the door but there arent any marks or stone chips anymore.
I always worry when somebody walks up the drive, if I hear a noise I'm straight up to the window to take a look. I have to set my alarm before the postman comes so I can make sure his bag doesn't run along it. I can't actualy visit anywhere in it as I worry I may end up with a parking ding or some **** catching the paint as they have a look. I drive at 10mph to get off my estate as there is quite a bit of loose gravel and I dont want it flicking up. It's at an almost obessive scale now. Damn I worry too much.

I was like that with my previous car. 2am curtain twitching when there was a noise outside, long wet walks across rainy car parks etc..

Sadly, it doesn't get any better. It's your pride and joy, you're going to worry about it. It's part of the ethos of being a proud owner, remember the positives of why you own the car every time you feel the need to curtain twitch.

Me, I just sold it and bought a £500 knackered MX5 to punt around in. I park in ditches now, I really don't care lol.

you are looking to sell it because you are obsessed by it?
get your head looked at, its only a car and can be fixed or replaced.

Don't you dare sell it until you've had it supercharged and had it long enough that you're bored with the extra power, OK?

i worry sometimes, mainly about bills and things, even though i have plenty of cash tucked aside. Sometimes think a clio 182 might be a good idea, but i like a nice place to sit

What you do is this, you drive the car taking the usual precautions, if you accumulate a ding or a scratch, which you will, you fix them in 3s once a year or before you sell it.

Thats it enjoy the car, if you let every single tiny thing get to you it will drive you mad.

I worry about my 10 year old undesirable 206 GTi (not even the 180, a 138). I think I'd be a wreck with anything desirable/nice.

It'll be going into a container when not in use as I have nowhere to keep it at my next place.

This just seems massively OTT - and coupled with your OP makes me think its just the wrong car for you. It's a car, a very nice car, but it shouldnt rule your life or have you storing it in shipping containers.

It's a car.

Can't say I've ever found that to be a problem! I got mine from Halfords :p

Mines a failure it seems to pick up and drag any dirt or dust over the paint, i gave up with it mind you iv also given up trying to keep cars absolutely swirl free now if i get a feint scratch i just suffer it then as above sort them out when i got a few to do.

It's a car.

It won't fit in a garage and I don't have room for 3 cars plus its only £50 a month in a self storage yard 10 mins away.

£600 a year that could be spent on sorting a few dings out. Which makes more sense?

If you are at that stage flog it, because store it and you will use it less and less till you just dont use it.
