Last night I was relaxing at home after work (well actually I was changing another nappy and finishing my second beer, but meh) when the door goes, it was the bloke from two doors down telling me he'd just seen someone pull out of a side street, clump my car and then drive off, luckily he'd got the registration number.

I rushed out to find a nice deep scuff on my bumper. Nothing major/broken.
/cracked and if he'd had the cojones to knock on the door and tell me I'd probably tell him not to worry. I was miles away from the junction and had 2 wheels on the curb.

Now I've got to go to the OB station with all my paperwork after work tonight.

</rant>

Anyway, cheers Dean.

Poo.

I'm still driving around with a cracked rear light after leaving my lovely spotless car in Tesco car park and coming back to find someone had bumped me and done a runner.

In that case you deserved everything you get, disgusting scummish behaviour, does the meaning of a pavement not mean anything to you?

Grrrr...
I only had two wheels on the curb after I swerved to hit a kitten.

I would've let Mainframe scrape his 'chair up the side of my car.

As long as he posted about it after.

I guess the police told you to take all your documents down to the station?

I got my car in July 2005. For a seven year old car it was in pretty mint condition. Its now got front and rear bumper scuffs, a scratch in the door and a dent in another door as a result of careless people.

I'll get them sorted out at some point but I just park as far away as possible now.

I'd be interested to see if the police do anything about this.

Yeah, why they need to see *my* documents is beyond me)

I phoned the non emergency number (hardly a 999 job was it? :D) spoke to a really helpful operator. Scarily she knew my name and address before I said anything () She couldn't log the "crime" on the phone but apparently they put out a watch on the offending vehicle.

Deans guess was he'd had a few because after he dinked my car, he clipped the curb as he drove off.

I'm not going to put in an insurance claim (unless I can swing the dent in the other side of the car in too :D) it's just the principle of it. Even if they just track down the owner and have a word with him would do me. (git)

Can you use Tcut on a self coloured bumper?

I think here in Nice it's a crime to own a car that isn't scratched :D

We got our car brand new, and within a week it had had one of the handles snaped off and a big dent in the side!

Err lol.

You kidding right?

I know it's not right, but that's a bit ott isn't it?

Unless I missed the sarcasm, which I hope I did.

I parried his comment with my kitten "joke"

Well, the guy could get something as he drove off after an accident without attempting to leave his details. That's a big crime iirc.

Who was the guy on here who got thrown in a hedge after taking on two guys in a truck about parking on the curb?

It started off tha they did it for no reason, just pulled up and pushed him in a hedge
Then because he had words with them.
Then because he snatched their tea from them.
Then it transpired he had walked OVER the road, given them a mouthfull about parking on the curb, tried to wrestle a mug of tea off them, which resulted in them chucking him over a hedge.

oooh that sucks!

I had my car scratched once by some gits, I didn't bother complaining about it for there is no point in my opinion. Nothing would happen.

I guess you just have to chalk it down to experience - don't park your car in public places. I have learnt that the hard way - I never park my car near other cars.

Anyone know where I can get some hardcore, to build my drive up a bit then?

(So I don't scrape the sump off, there's a bit of a ridge going from pavement-drive)
