Everybody's Golf Shot Techniques?

how do

the manual isn't very clear any i'm a bit foxed on the shot techniques... could anyone give me a leg up?

so far i can draw or fade the ball, but i'm not sure exactly when i should be holding the d-pad... i just hold it after the backswing (so through the downswing and the accuracy bit) and it seems to work but with mixed results...

but i know you also have power tweaking, super spins and all sorts of interesting sounding gubbins... can anyone gimme a heads up? or am i supposed to "earn" this information later on in the game?

The majority of Shot Techniques only come when you've got your loyalty level up high enough (Max Loyalty is 12 btw).

Once unlocked you have:-

Super Spins -

For Super Back Spin, press Up on D pad at power setting and Down on D pad at Impact. If you get a perfect impact when your ball lands it will burn with blue flames and move backwards. If you hit the pin with this shot type it bounces off then homes back in to the pin and into the hole.

For Super Top Spin, press Down on D Pad at power setting and Up on D pad at Impact. If you get a perfect impact when your ball lands it will burn with red flames and move forwards. If you hit the pin with this shot type, it travels up the pin and falls into the hole.

For Super Left Spin, Press Right on D Pad at power setting and Left on D Pad at Impact. If you get a perfect impact, you'll pull off a super left spin. Not sure if this has any effect if you hit the pin.

For Super Right Spin, Press Left on D Pad at power setting and Right on D Pad at Impact. If you get a perfect impact, you'll pull off a super left spin. Not sure if this has any effect if you hit the pin.

Back Door Shots -

If you hit a good strong putt which just goes over the rim of the hole, it'll spin round the hole several times and then fall into the pin.

Power Tweaking -

Press Square before taking your shot to increase the power slightly. Limited Use in games, amount varies. If your using a 1W you can increase the power 2 increments rather than 1.

Press Triangle at Impact. If perfect impact obtained, you'll get a slight power boost.

Press Circle at Impact. If perfect impact obtained you'll get a slight power reduction.


Hope that helps. If you don't already, use Advanced Shots as you get more power from these shots than the standard method and later in the game you'll be forced to play Rounds with Advanced shots.
