Everyday Sexism

One of the places I work in has 1 man (me) and 35 women working in it, so I can categorically state that sexism happens both ways... *shrug*

That page is pure BS. There's a lot of examples there that aren't sexist at all, just bad taste at the moment. To he honest I'd go as far as to say that they're part of the problem to some extent.

Posts some quotes yo, twitter is blocked at work :p

Here you go:

Driving between cities, I noticed a truck next to me driving aggressively and bizarrely. I tried to slow down to let him pass, I sped up, I changed lanes. The driver followed me to stay in line with my driver's seat no matter what I did. I finally looked over to see what the hell was going on. The driver, probably in his late 20s early 30s, was having a **** and staring at me with his mouth open. He lifted himself up to expose himself to me. I slammed on the breaks and wrote down his license plate. He quickly exited and I called the police. Never got a call back even with the description of: the truck, the attached horse trailer, the man, the license plate and the exit he took into a very small town. Gee, how DID he slip away? ABSOLUTELY HORRIFIC.

Why is it always female characters people love to hate: Andrea - Walking Dead, Debra, La Guerta - Dexter, Kikyo - Inuyasha

Was hanging put with a friend a few days ago and he told me he liked me and wanted to move things to the next level. I asked him what do you like about me? He said 'well doh your looks' I asked him what else, he couldn't even compliment my personality!

Do really want more? :p

5 minutes of reading through that has angered me.

I hate feminists.

Very few of the situations are even sexist, and if you look at the pages of some of the people who are attributing sexism to a situation just because they were offended, you can see some of them posting tweets that contradict the things they were complaining about.

One girl:

"Looking good" how to complement a woman without being a pervd

She then goes on about how she wants to fly somewhere where she can be surrounded by "posh sexy men"

And then how she's drooling over some guy.

The hypocrisy is just awful.

Indeed. I'm outnumbered at work by women about 10:1 and it certainly does. But I don't see it as an issue because I'm not insecure or paranoid about my sex or the gender roles.

The Everyday Sexism Project exists to catalogue instances of sexism experienced by women on a day to day basis.

The irony.

That page is reason why I hate most feminists, they only see sexism as a one way street.

Odd, I thought most of them we're tbh
Certainly lots of hate for comments about their bodies or appearance.

Ironic that the automatic assumption is that this is just for women, when it is for both sexes :)
Look at the images and look at all the posts.

People posting there don't seem to be able to distinguish between sexism and someone just being offensive to a woman, or even a woman hearing something she doesn't like.

The page just makes a mockery of real sexism issues.

It's like a lot of apparent racism as well, where it becomes anything critical said about or to someone who isn't white is classified as racism.

I'm not sure what you think is ironic either.
