Just got my new rig set up. I'm using the eVGA 650i, I have sound working using integrated sound with my headset but my microphone doesn't work. I've tried 4 microphones and nothing different. It tells me than I've plugged it in and that's all fine, but I'm getting no input whatsoever. Any ideas?

Might sound totally stupid, but sometimes it tends to be the dumbest things that have us stumped:- have you checked your microphone settings using 'Volume Control' in Windows, and ensured they aren't muted? (or set to a really low volume)

I've gone into volume control and I get the following options:
Master Volume, Wave, SW Synth, Line Volume, CD Volume. None of them are muted and they're all maxed out.

Friend had these problems aswell as problems with the ethernet. The board has been solid, but little niggly things. He fixed by changing drivers and reconnecting cable etc just to make sure.

I'll get the latest drivers from the eVGA site, thanks!

In the volume control, go to options>properties and check the microphone box to get the slider for it

You'll need to look in the RECORDING panel not the playback as you've listed above.

Make sure the mic is enabled (ticked) and that the mic gain is on. Then set a level.
If you see a mic control in the PLAYBACK section, mute it as that is to allow you to hear your own mic which you don't normally want to do.

Might be in the sound card mixer and NOT the Windows mixer, depends on the software/driver.
