Evga 780 Ti - Failed

Hey guys,

I have just had my 780Ti fail, I tested it with a different power supply, different slots to make sure it was not a MB/PSU issue.
I have now slung in my trusty oldschool 8800GT as a backup which is working fine amazingly without a single issue(ran some benching programs Ram/CPU/GPU etc).

I would guess that this originally started with a driver crash here and there a few days ago which I thought I had fixed. I was playing ARK which seemed to have caused other people similar issues so chalked it down to that. I then started to get artefacts appearing on the screen which immediately lead to a system crash, the artefacting happened once and same with the crash after which the system fails to boot with the graphics card onboard.

The card itself has no issues with overheating and always hovers around 40/45'c, I am using a 850w Bequiet PSU which has been a great performer.

So it seems that the card has just failed? What is EVGA's RMA like? I am registered for life time warranty, I did so in the first week I bought it.

If there are any EVGA reps here I would love some advice, my obvious plan is for RMA, as I have troubleshot every thing in the system to make sure it is nothing else.

Thanks in advance for any replies :).

From what I can gather EVGA warranty/RMA is the best out there.

Would imagine they would replace it with a 970 since the 780Ti is EOL, although they may still have a stockpile.

Where did you get it from? here?

If somewhere else and youve registered on the evga site then Im pretty sure you can request a RMA from there directly.

I do hope I get a positive response from them, I am posting on there forums also before I put in the RMA. I am going to test it in a completely different system in an hour just to make sure.

What is everyone elses experiance with them? I am rather sad and disappointed this has happend, it feels as if the older generation hardware lasted far longer then these new cards. This 8800gt still works after 6+ years.

You won't be disappointed what they replace it with mate ;)

I do hope that it is something of similar quality.

I have opened a support ticket as it seems I need to wait for a reply? before submitting the RMA? As I need a support ticket number?

I am not sure of the process I have posted up a thread on the evga forum aswell.

Hope it gets sorted.

My inno 3D 780Ti went back to the manufacturer a couple of weeks ago. Just died, no power. Like for like (as in price paid) would be nice :D

I hope so too!

I am waiting for one of the ocuk guys to send me the invoice for the card tomorrow morning when the lads get into work :P.

This card was sent out originally to replace my 290s which were problematic so don't have an original invoice for them.

Herpi derr.

I actually have a really big problem I overlooked, I have recently purchased a waterblock compatable with the 780TI as I was planning on setting up a watercooling loop.

Unfortunately before I was able to do this the card failed, now not that I wont appreciate a newer card if I am lucky enough to receive one but if I do then that would make the waterblock useless.
