Hey guys,
I have just had my 780Ti fail, I tested it with a different power supply, different slots to make sure it was not a MB/PSU issue.
I have now slung in my trusty oldschool 8800GT as a backup which is working fine amazingly without a single issue(ran some benching programs Ram/CPU/GPU etc).
I would guess that this originally started with a driver crash here and there a few days ago which I thought I had fixed. I was playing ARK which seemed to have caused other people similar issues so chalked it down to that. I then started to get artefacts appearing on the screen which immediately lead to a system crash, the artefacting happened once and same with the crash after which the system fails to boot with the graphics card onboard.
The card itself has no issues with overheating and always hovers around 40/45'c, I am using a 850w Bequiet PSU which has been a great performer.
So it seems that the card has just failed? What is EVGA's RMA like? I am registered for life time warranty, I did so in the first week I bought it.
If there are any EVGA reps here I would love some advice, my obvious plan is for RMA, as I have troubleshot every thing in the system to make sure it is nothing else.
Thanks in advance for any replies.
Hi,
in this case just contact customer support for a RMA Ticket. You can reach us at [email protected] or +49 89 189 049 11. We do offer standard RMA where you send us the card and we need 1-3 days in our office till we ship a replacement and we do offer an advanced service where you need to place a security collateral via paypal then we will ship a replacement right away, when you have this you can send us the faulty card and when we have this in our office we refund you the collateral. When you contact support please state that you have done the troubleshooting already then they will skip it.
You may get lucky, Snodge the lucky ******* got two 980's from both cards. I got sent back another 780ti classy, however this one came without stock bios for some reason and was boosting to 1200 out the box. Runs quite high too but I had to RMA my original as it was unstable at stock.
No i sent off a classy and got a classy back. It all depends what they have in stock. If you ask the right person too. The folks from support ticket can't tell you what you'll get but if someone from the RMA department hands your RMA you can ask them and see what they say. No you just need to stick the label on if you've got it. Only need to right the RMA number on all sides if you don't have the label. Who you using to ship btw?
I ended up speaking to the RMA guy and asked for a direct replacement if possible due to already having a WB for the card.
I went to PO today and was quoted £60... really cant afford that at the moment I hope maybe evga may be able to help with the postage. I can't send it uninsured and that seems to be the cheapest.
Are EVGA not paying for the postage?
Hi, we do only cover the shipping cost if the product was ordered directly from us or if it is still within the first 30 days of purchase. UPS and FedEx are no need in Europe and you can also work with local shipping companys if this helps any. Most customer report best pricing for shipments to germany are from parcelmonkey.
Go to parcelmonkey, Parcelforce 48 insured upto £200 for £21 that's how I sent my card back to EVGA.
