Can anyone help?
I have just purchased the following spec..

Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.67GHz (1066FSB)
EVGA GeForce 8800 GTX KO ACS3 SILENT 768MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI
EVGA nForce 680i SLi (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
OCZ 4GB (2 x 2GB) PC2-6400C5 Dual Channel Vista Gold Series DDR2
Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate 64-Bit Edition DVD - OEM

Plugged in all my compoenents but get no signal to monitor..
Tried all the obvious stuff..
Read all the other similar threads..
reseating Card,
power to card.
reseating memory..
No luck..
I get error code 25 on motherboard.. says in manual it relates to VBIOS and thats it..

I'm gutted my new spec doesn't work.. perhaps I'm missing something obvious.. I don't have another PCI graphics card or access to one so my options are limited.. but before I return the card I wanted to be absolutely sure it was my problem.

Anyhelp welcome.

thanks,

Philip

Sorry!

Spot the novice... :-(

I bought an Antec P190 Gaming Case with a 1200 Watt Neo Link PSU

Neo-Link 1200 Watt dual power supply system: One 650 Watt Neo Power is
responsible for powering the motherboard and add-in cards, while another 550 Watt, handles drives and other peripherals

OVERKILL!!

also try this:

-set jumper to CMOS clear
-remove battery
-hold power switch for about 30 seconds
-replace jumper to normal position
-replace battery

also have you tried the 8800GTX in other slots on your 680i?

Thanks to all...

Plenty to try here.. the CMOS reset may work I believe it has before... from another forum..
I've tried trying one memory stick in a different DIMM with no results..

Have yet to check the other pci slot..to see if it complains..

I'll let you know the outcome...

No change same error though overclockers deny there is a problem..

I tried all the options mentioned went back to EVGA support and they concluded that the motherboard was at fault. So I returned the board to Overclockers.

The next I heard they were returning it.. no mention of a problem..
When I called they said it worked fine for in the lab...
There is still a problem despite trying mutiple cards..
Its very frustrating as Overclockers offered no help.. just told me the board worked for them...
I am suspicous that it was tested or at least tested with a similar config..as the CMOS jumper setting was left in the reset position which I would have thought would create problems for a boot up... (maybe I being paranoid)
In anycase I am really ******.. a lot of money spent with Overclockers and little or no help to get it going...

No swearing

It is very frustrating but this thread will have to stay away from support facilities offered by OcUK as it will get the thread closed as it is 'shop talk' which is not alllowed.

All I will say is that in the past when I have had problems OcUK have been very reasonable. I'm sure if you raise a web note and explain the problem in a logical and precise way that you will be looked after.

In the meantime I would suggest trying the graphics card in another PC (a mates, even a local PC shop may be prepared to help). If you can prove that the card works in another PC, then the MoBo is obviously at fault. Likewise of the card fails in another PC then the MoBo is probably OK. It is unlikely that both MoBo and VGA card are both faulty.

This is the kind of thing that will help you get the faulty parts replaced.

Lastly - good luck, this kind of thing is very frustrating...

Thanks Hodders

I'll try what you mentioned.... I had to have a vent.. going nuts here with no progress....
perseverance seems to be the order of the day...

had this problem installing my 8800gts - first time it booted with graphic output, had some ide issues, so rebooted and lost all ouput, with error 25 on my AB9 mobo.

Wouldnt work 4 or five times, then after re-seating the graphics card, and making sure the 6 pin power supply (and the 4 pin on the mobo) was all securley connected, it fired up. and has worked fine ever since.

you tried any other graphics cards on that mobo, and visa verda like hodders mentioned...
