If you can afford the extra I would go EVGA. Else the OCUK ref card would be a good choice.

Hi Gibbo,
Is there any chance the OcUK reference 980s cards are gonna be on sale any time soon? Looking to purchase 2 if it is but if not may have to settle for one at the moment.
Don't make me be one of those 1 card guys again please![]()
@Gibbo,
Will these be on next weeks 'This Week only'?

I need the funds to clear from my returned Galax SOC if I'm going to go with that one.
They will be going up end of today, wont be down in price again for a long time or maybe never if we cant source more.
That's a shame.

Coil Whine
Unbalanced Fan Bearing, far left
Are you saying the KFA GTX980's are actually Trotskyite Communists?
They went up this morning?
Anyhoo credit arrived, time to order
Personally I would have gone the OCUK reference route, Blower style fans are always the best to remove the hot air out the case plus the reference just looks damn sexy and mine has zero coil whine.
My 980 does 1500/2000 easily, I've also benched at 1550 but had to drop the memory down to 7600 for stability.
Fan curve wise I have it at a 1:1 ration, If the temp is 20'c the fan is 20% and so on, Not loud and stays nice and cool.
I recently got a relative of mine a Strix 980 for his birthday present and he can't get past 1450 or 7500 on the memory without having issues and has some nasty coil whine.
Aren't we distant cousins or something...?
(20th July in case you forgot)
You could try a 290x...?
What are you ordering....?
Thankfully my KAF2 980 seems great and at just under £400 that I paid there seems nothing close to that now, price wise.

How long did it take for your credit to arrive?

EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Superclock ACX 2.0 4096MB
1) They allow you to remove the cooler add a different cooler, and even send out replacement coolers if fans are faulty, the Galax company doesn't
2) Free 5 year warranty if you register the card before 21st March
3) I've seen reports of people overclocking and not getting above 67C, the KFA2 got into the mid 70's nearly 80's at 90% fan speed!
4) A more known brand, in other words more people will have the card than say a Zotac, better custom bios support
5) High quality fans, not cheap branded like most cards
etc
