hey all, so as mentioned I am looking at a new GPU. I've been offered one, an evga gtx 670. Its boxed and everything and comes with the receipt/invoice and stuff. it was purchased in the USA, but was never registered with EVGA. Does this mean, that if i buy the card, I can register for warranty? if for some reason the warranty has already been registered, are they good at transferring warranty?

Thanks!
Stephen

thanks, really helps. hopefully I'll nab this card then and I won't have to worry so much about RMA. if it has a user caused fault I can return it to the seller, which I highly doubt anyway. Cheers!

The warranty is transferable as its the card which carries the warranty - just check the card was purchased after this was brought in (but iirc it was last year sometime)

Also if it wasn't registered in think you only get 40 days from the original purchase date to register it and log the warranty starting - I'd check that too

You (if the above is all ok) get chance when you do register to purchase extended warranty to 5 or 10 years - this however isn't transferable and remains only with the original registee

RMA is supposedly one of the best but goes mean shipping back to Germany

10 year warranty no longer exists, i registered my 670 4gb the day i got it, only 5 year options is there now. That's plenty though.

Odd - I registered my 3 670s a few weeks ago and extended to 5 years and the 10 year option was there for all three cards :S

hang on, it was bought in may so does that mean it cant be registered for any warranty????
it doesnt have the extended warranty, just the standard 2 year, but if it hasnt been registered and was purchased in may (nearly 6 months ago) does this mean it doesnt have the standard 2 year warranty?

Just logged into the site i have a 5 year warranty and had no option for 10

Edit - Ahhh you can get a 10 year warranty but have to pay for it, not like it used to be.

If you have the original receipt then 3 years from the date on the sales receipt - if you don't then 3 years from the date the card shipped from the EVGA factory

The 30 days is for extended warranty and step up program

I thought it worked that you get on some (like classified gear) a 10 year warranty then most others are 3 years with option to purchase extension to 5 or 10 years

However that extended warranty is only valid to the original purchaser and only the balance if the base 3 year warranty transfers if the product is sold on

That a great buy!
Is it new?

sadly not, it is 5-6 months old, but sat in the box until 2 months ago, and hasn't even seen a game played on it, I think it was a gift for someone and they just haven't had the time to game so. it looked mint, comes with everything, receipt for warranty too. paid by paypal too so if its DOA I can get my money back :)

If its DOA you could RMA direct to EVGA and end up with a New one

i RMA'd my EVGA GTX 570 FTW LE a couple of weeks ago paid to get a new 1 first and they sent me a standard FTW. Nice upgrade sent mine back and got refunded the next week,
