Evga GTX 680 crashing problems(Display driver stopped responding)

Hello i have done everything exactly what Mr maniac says on Evga forum. i am not running the Asus suite or the precision X i have download a pro uninstaller i remove all the unnecessary software i have clean up the registry i have perform a clean install of the drives i have done everything correctly. i try to run 3D Mark 11 not the advanced edition in the basic edition on 1280x 720p performance and guess what happen. i cant compete the test not even on the 720p resolution. my card is garbage. i have serious problem. when i try to run the test my screen flickers all yellow and go black and crash and of course the error message " Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered. " and don't tell me again that is software problem . that is not the case. my card is obvious that is faulty. i cant run a fu*** single test on 720p with the 3D Mark. i will send the card for RMA this is the only solution . the case is closed . this Year starts bad for me . i hope the next card to be stable ..

These things happen sometimes and it is a pain when it does. Good luck with the RMA and EVGA are one of the best, so shouldn't take long at all.

Happy New Year to you and your Family Sir and remember, the card was faulty last year, so things could be looking up this year :)

Get that RMA sorted quickly and gaming will bring back your smile.

My GTX 275 started doing the display driver stopped responding nonsense a while ago it was overclocked out of the box, I lowered the memory overclock a fraction and all is good for now . As yours is a new card its gotta be RMA time

Just trying to help you here !
Why did you not test at lower clocks ? If the fault is the GPU at least you would know if the damm thing will function correctly at lower clocks.

Use Crysis or heaven to test a GPU quickly. Still you do not have enough information to be 100% sure  Testing is only helpful in a case like this when the point at which it goes from working to not working is found.

You would not be the first to have a OC card that is on the edge, but It's really not hard to be 100% sure is it ?

i test the card on 3D Mark 11, 3D Mark Vantage, Heaven DX11. in all tests my card flickers and crash with the error message i describe above.

i have test it on lower clock and it seems that is works but ONLY works on lower clocks. the card cant run in the normal and boost speeds ..so is 100 % faulty . i have done everything that i can . the only solution is RMA

I Agree with that but at no point have you said how much the clocks need to be reduced ?

If you can tell Overclockers/EVGA exactly what the fault is (how much underclock ) it would speed up your replacement.

I also advise you test the Replacement Card, ensuring it will run at least 50MHZ overclock and if it does not reject it !

the card works fine underclock 100 MHZ when i try to test it on game

I've just fitted an EVGA 680 to my system, also bought from here. And I can only get 50Hz core overclock out of it myself, and thats with it water cooled. Don't know if it is bad batch, I assume it is largely luck of the draw with these things, but that link about the drivers is interesting. Can get 500Hz on the memory ok though.

I would not worry too much, these cards are pushed way past their optimum efficiency already, If you don't believe me just set the power target (evga precision) down to 60% and see how much gaming performance you don't loose ! :D

Hello everyone i have bought my new PC parts from here for my new PC gaming rig. I played a few games for a few days but suddenly a problem occur .I realize the FPS go very low and games makes an annoying stuttering. then the whole display turns light green ,blue, yellow, black dots and starts flickering, sometimes changing to pink for a short moment while playing a game and then the screen goes black and BLACK and display a message : " Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered "
I go all over the web i try everything but i have the same problem on both windows 7 and 8 OS. i run my CPU, RAM ,GPU on default speeds (not overclock) on a fresh clean install windows. i have the latest bios update on my mobo and the latest graphic card update from nvidia 310.70.
I've reset the BIOS CMOS already because it might have fixed voltages or something, but still the same problem.
I've tried the latest version of the nvidia driver for the GTX 680 and also an older one that was on a CD delivered with the card. In-between I've used Driver Sweeper to make sure that the driver tried before is completely gone and doesn't conflict somehow. With both driver versions, the exact same problem occurs.
This problem occur in almost all my games: skyrim, mass effect 3, far cry 3, Assassin's Creed III. im not sure if is motherboard or GPU problem but i think is faulty GPU? The computer is brand new and customly built, what do you think guys is the problem? is it time to RMA my card ? im very sad because i spend a lot of money on that PC and is 1 month old . I was expecting more from my new PC with no problems. Here is my specs:

EVGA GeForce GTX 680 SC Signature 2
Intel Core i7-3770K
Asus Z77 Maximus V Formula
Samsung Green 8GB
Samsung 128GB SSD 830
PSU Corsair Professional Series HX850W

Hi, sorry I would normally answer faster but I have been traveling. Contact the following guys Dom [email protected] and Markus [email protected] mention my name (Lee) and ask them for a upgrade to something better. Once I get the request from them, I will approve something nice for you. EVGA always try and deliver a 100% solid product to ALL customers. But when you sell as many chips as we do every month, then sometimes the odd bad card can creep through the net. The important thing is we are always here to help, replace, and upgrade in the name of customer support ;)
