Got this card for another mITX project (Evga GTX 970 SSC 2.0+)
https://www.overclockers.co.uk/evga...s-graphics-card-04g-p4-3975-kr-gx-269-ea.html

Seemed like a good idea; 2 slot, improved cooling and packs a punch
Case for the project:

In more detail about the project:

As mentioned, ive used akasa slim fans as intake:
https://www.overclockers.co.uk/akas...-system-12012015mm-pwm-control-fg-075-ak.html

There is about 5mm gap between gpu and fans. It seems as fans don't do anything to impove cooling of the GPU.
Must the be more distance between them?
I have now scrapped Akasa slims and installed Be Quiet Shadow Wings:
https://www.overclockers.co.uk/be-quiet-shadow-wings-fan-mid-speed-92mm-fg-017-bq.html

I have also switched fan curve on. While on BF4 temps do not hit 80c now, which was a problem before.

Is the card running too hot or is there not enough intake for the card?
Would like to improve temps as tempted to OC. So far +120 cpu +600 mem with no problem, but worried about the temps

Anyone in the same boat? or with advise?
Thanks

Hi, the card is a semi passive one so the fans will only spin when the card hit 60 degree, with this fanprofile the cards are mostly between 70-80 degree under full load. If the card is running hotter then that and start to trottle I would suggest to setup an active custom fan profile with the Precision tool, you can also save this as a windows start up profile then you do not need to reload it every time... with a active fan courve it should be no problem to keep the card arround 70 degree.

I believe fans kick-in at 65+C. Do you know what is the max temp before it throttles? I believe it might be 80 as it might've happened a few times, few seconds stutter.
Right now with fan curve (30c-40%, 50c-50%, 60c-60%, 70c-70%, 80c-80%, 100c-100%) temps did improve. Still worried as that feels high. Another thing I didn't get is why extra intake fans didn't improve temps on gpu

this fanprofile seems pretty high. Other customer reported the card do run a max. fanspeed at 50% and card was staying below 80 degree. Usually also adding intake fans should improve temps at least by some numbers... Are you able to uplaod a picture of your system? Are you able to simply test the card in a different system, maybe of a friend or familie member? If you just run the card on default settings with auto fan profile in your system it do overheat and clock down?
