Evga Mini-ITX

hehe yeh that was a little harsh of me my bad
i love the type of psu they used, but they need to atleast black out them cables

id have the psu behind the motherboard somehow
everything black! & white leds inside :)

I like the idea but I can see this being one to wait for a Mk 2.0.

Needs to be about 1.5cm wider with space for cables behind the board.
CPU cooler cut out.
Modular PSU cables (preferably with your choice of colours like Corsair).
Better paint job internally.
Removable drive bay.
About 2.5cm longer to accommodate all top end GPUs.
Top fans could be 140mm were it a tiny bit wider for cable management.

I don't like the front of it but given it's around half the size of the Prodigy at least they seem to get the point of the SFF market more than Bitfenix do.

5 things I think they should have done.

1. Make some kind of side/bottom/front vent for the front of the case at least so it will be able to cool the GPU and cool some of the motherboard. Make the case a little bigger in length to allow for the 120mm fan or SILENT 92mm.

Also add venting at the back of the case instead of blocking it off to allow for air to flow through back and not just top? (I really think 1. will approve temps quite a bit).

2. Better paint job inside.

3. Allow the HDD to be removed if need be, people can use the slot loading drive for SSD (maybe include adapter?).

4. Allow 11inch graphics card to be inserted (maximum).

5. Finally sleeve the power supply and make proper adjustments to allow for decent cable management, maybe even modularity of the PSU.

yeah thanks for the review, overpriced and shoddy work and design would stop anyone from buying this case.... looks nice on the outside but considering its there 1st attempt they should have at least let an engineer attempt to work on the issues or ask punters what they want in a case before releasing it.

Sad to see in the video larger 11inch cards wont fit.... am sure the next gen cards will be longer and worser, non removable caddy... ouch

Had potential but failed perhaps the next version 2.0 will fix all the flaws and quickly be released:)

Hi,

the idea behind the case is to make it as small as possible and also affordable for most of the people.
Modular cable management would make it more expensive and the PSU is also very small at the rear end which make it hard to do it modular.
For this you can use those nice single sleaved extentions and just hide the normal cables next to the PSU.
I agree that the grey part internally do not look that great and we will take a look to change this with future batches, for now we are ok if you just paint it black if you want to.
All drive bays are removable, the HDD/SSD one as well as the one for the optical drive.
The last two points would be extend the chassis again and it would not be the smalles possible powerfull anymore.
I agree that the points you mentioned would be nice to have but would not be possible with this dimension chassis.
We might also launch other chassis in the future that will fit your needs better.

Cheers

i think a modular PSU in a itx case is a bit pointless anyway, most stuff is decided for you, 1 gfx card, only so many hdd's etc

i agree with an earlier post that i think it was brave evga actually made a itx case that is small, it would have been so much easier to put a regular psu in, making the case huge but also making it cheap

hope you guys persist with it and get some nice changes made over time without making it big or overly complicated

Hi,

All drive bays are removable, the HDD/SSD one as well as the one for the optical drive.

Can you confirm that you can remove the whole bay that houses the hdd/optical drive, cause from the reviews I've seen it doesn't look possible as the main cage is held by tamper proof screws?

Quick update about the paintjob inside: The unit in the video is a early sample, the mass production units that will get available in roughly 4 weeks will be all black inside.

so after looking at more reviews it does appear the HDD cage is secured by rivets, therefore making it none-removeable. I was about to hit the buy button prior to finding this out :(

so that would be my feedback to improve the case is to make it removeable, and that would make it more appealing.
