I personally think that the issue has been more than adequately explained. As a few folks on here have suggeste and now pretty much proven by the gamersnexus article, that the issue has been with a small number of cards and it's the odd faulty component on the pcb's that have blown. This can happen in any electronic device.
I'm not quite sure why certain folks keep talking about cards "setting on fire" or "exploding". It's complete nonsense! Basically the odd component has gone pop, sometimes a bit dramatically but not aware of any pc's going up in flames, or people being injured. After extensive reading about this issue ... I've only come across ONE guy who has even had any other components damaged because a cap on his graphics card exploded and even here, EVGA is talking with the guy regarding compensation.
There's even some nutter over in the EVGA forum that's claiming to be being collecting "evidence" for some sort of legal action.!!! Think some people want to stop taking whatever mind enhancing drugs they are taking and get a grip
