EVGA Power Supplies ?

The one we are not clear on is the 1000w G1. The database says it is Superflower but one of your fellow EVGA reps on another site says it is FSP. The problem with that is that FSP doesn't make a Aurum that big so it would be a Aurum Pro design and they cost considerably more.

just put my supernova g1 1000w in today and i am absolutely loving it. Its built like a tank and ribbon cables are the future people as they take up so much less space. Also it is absolutely silent compared to that old ocz unit. well done evga.

I'm using EVGA G2 1300W and just bought a P2 1200W and its great.

As for support EVGA were great to me when I asked to buy a replacement 24pin cable as I'd damaged mine (through my own fault) They happily sent me one for free. Excellent service in my book.

I think even the cheaper PSUs are a good bet, since EVGA wouldn't put their names on a sub-standard product. I would chose this over a cheap "value" PSU any day. Even though they are not 80 Plus Gold, they have active PFC and the whole host of protections.

What I wouldn't use them for is high-end systems, which are heavily overclocked. Say for example if you have an AMD 8 core (overclocked) and an AMD 280, 500W would technically be more than enough, however I would be a bit weary.

EVGA use HEC for the low end, who make reasonable models for the money. Their G1 models are FSP made, which are solid enough, but inferior to the SuperFlower made G2/P2/T2 units, which are fantastic. They will be releasing some 550/650W Seasonic made units in the next few months too. Overall alongside SuperFlower and Seasonic, EVGA are the PSUs to buy.

I like how a Rep dismisses the quality of a £40 PSU in comparison to a £140 PSU.

Listen, if your able to put quality, full modular cabling, and 850w of gold standard efficiency into £115.

Then stating you cannot have equal quality in a cheaper unit is questionable, 450w should not need to cost £100+ as an excuse to include quality efficiency and longevity as it is already costing less at half the wattage. Is that not why a 1600w gold rated PSU costs twice as much as a 850w gold rated PSU?

If so, then why can we not get a PSU as nice as the SuperNova G2 850w but half the price with a 450w or even 350w rating?

750w is £20 less, so why do we not have that same standard at 450w for £40 or £50?

Too many PSU manufacturers shirking quality and focusing on profit via OEM rebrands at the low power market. I have an old 450w HX Corsair, fully modular and doing great still, and recently picked up a 350w non modular corsair for £18 in a sale.

Can't see much in the way of high quality SFX/Micro/Mini PSU's anywhere, and the good ones are overpriced and underperforming in comparison to what the money buys in ATX form.

Anyway, still I like the look of the EVGA, and as I plan on purchasing a 750w, while looking for an excuse to get an 850w, I will be considering EVGA over Corsair or Seasonic. I want silence, efficiency, and longevity.

With a £160 budget, and for powering two 7950 or 290, or whatever top card is next out from AMD, what is the best EVGA option and model? Are the 750w/850w Superflower based?
