EVGA 780i problem?

Hi guys,

Just bought a whole new system, everything new but kept a few old equipment... case and hdds.

I've bought the EVGA nForce 780i SLI Mainboard, seems to be working fine but for some reason I'm experiencing some problems when trying to shut my system down.

At the start, I was able to hold down the power button and it'll switch off after 8-11 secs, now it won't respond and shutting down through windows it won't shut down, at first it looks like its shutting down but the system stays on and the monitor shuts off.

Has anyone experienced this problem? I've looked in the bios and can't find anything thats related to booting up the system. Any ideas?

When you installed your new hardware did you format and re-installed windows as well on your hard drive?

Have you googled for this? It is most probably a software problem. IMHO not directly related to the 780i EVGA motherboard.

Have you tried giving EVGA tech support a call? They are rather good.

0049 891 890 4911 (germany) but they speak good english.

I've googled this and someone did mention about cables, if they're not correctly put in... you would get these kind of problems.

I have formatted and re-installed windows, everything is fresh. I have double checked the cables and no problems so far, just one thing I have experienced the mb keeps rejecting the floppy drive now, everytime I'll restart the floppy drives fails.

Which Bios version do you have installed. maybe an upgrade is required. Is the hardware all compatable with the mobo
