EVGA step up experience

From how I'm reading that it won't cost you anything that's a big win in my book

Yeah thats what I'm hoping. The ambiguity with EVGAs pricing on their EU store has me worried though. Really need to have a read through the T&Cs of the step up programme and see if the price quoted is locked in once you register.

I have a 3080 xc3 black pre order with Scan but am now thinking about cancelling, picking up a 2080 Super and enrolling in step up to pick up a 3080 when the stock situation has settled down; sounds dumb but I am currently using an old 970 on loan, so not really playing much atm.

That was the exact reasoning behind my purchase of my 2080 Super. Kids needed a new GPU for their machine, so splashed out and gave them my old 1080ti.

A bit of a gamble at first, especially when the step-up programme wasn't open to EU customers for the first few days which certainly got me worried I'd made a big mistake. Still not convinced I'll see my card this side of xmas, but now I'm in the list there's no huge rush.

This forum is run by and paid for by Overclockers UK Retailer so talking or hinting about competitors and/or prices will not be tolerated, so please don't, thanks.

So how does this work? Considering the 3080’s being out of stock, can you still enrol? and say you don’t receive the 3080 within 90 days (the step up period), can you still go ahead with the step up or are you removed from the list. Apologies if these are obvious answers, but I’m genuinely interested in this now. If I could buy an EVGA 2080 super, immediately enrol in the step up programme and then know I’m in a list guaranteed to get one no matter when it comes (out of the 90 day period) then I’d be tempted to switch to this. Purely as my only current gripe is the fact that I don’t have a GPU! The waiting isn’t the problem.

So just to confirm, it doesn’t matter when they get the card in stock, now your enrolled you’ll receive it whether it be November this year or November next year? (I’m only joking.....sorta ;))

I’d remove the competitor if I were you :)

yeah you have 90 days from card purchase, must be a card with 3 year warranty look for one ending with kr In model number

once you register in that 90 day period you can step up and the 90 day is just to start it, once you’re in it it’s just waiting so don’t need to worry about the rest of the 90 days

There seems to be a bit of ambiguity around the prices on the EVGA EU site - did you get a confirmed cost of stepup? EG the FTW Ultra Gaming that is mentioned as being eligible to step up to, is showing at xxx.xx Euro Excluding VAT. However in their FAQ it states "The price on our Online Store are including 21% VAT as our warehouse is located in The Netherlands. We will use your shipping address when calculating the VAT on your purchase."

That’s all historic - the prices evga used toy quote included vat but said + vat so double taxed, they updated it last week though.

Ignore the faq, they now exclude VAT and process adjusted to reflect that, vat is added based on your shipping location.

So to be clear it’s 709 euros plus vat in your country therefore

plus 15 euros shipping from DE to UK

plus about £18 to ship card insured to DE from UK

Magic, cheers. Considering 2070S now, and stepping up to 3080 when available.

exactly what I have done

the queue thread for eu isn’t huge but only has ppl on the forum to gauge by but still I think less people willing to wait on step up so hoping once it gets moving no it’s fairly quick
