EVGA Step-Up, Only 3 days Left !!

They require you to send in the card with the recipt too lol.

i am sure you can send them just a copy, but also you can upload a scan into their website as well which i think should work just as well but dont quote me on this.

Hi guys.

I currently have this card :

EVGA 8800 GTS 640MB Superclocked

Now as the title says, i only have 3 days left to do a step-up. I have a budget of about £100.

I do think the Ultra is overpriced, so is it worth going for the GTX just to be a bit more future proof, or stay with my GTS.

I really confused,

Thank you for the help.

Not worth it.

If you had the 320mb version then I would say yes,

I would spend 100 quid on an extra 2 gig of ram for vista.

The perfromance increase is not worth the 100 quid IMO.

I have had a GTX and downgraded to a 320 MB version without any problems.

Unless he plays at super high res then he won't notice.

The step up is good for when its needed like jumping a generation.

Not simply getting the same series card.

Thats very true. I only play at 1280x1024. Im only thinking in terms of future proofing.

Come to think of it maybe for £100 its not a big significant jump. Like suggested maybe put the £100 towards somewhere else.

In terms of the invoice, i used a screen capture and then sent it to them.

Im in the same boat. I have about 40 days left on my Step Up program and have the 320MB SuperClocked version. Upgrading via the EVGA Step Up thing will cost me an extra £230 for an 8800GTX...Just dosent seem worth it imo. Im thinking I may just buy another EVGA 320mb SuperClocked and just SLi it.

I payed £268 for my EVGA 8800GTS ACS3 KO, I guess its only like 100 for a GTX and 200 for an Ultra for me.

ermmm not sure mate...Its someting like this for me personally

Bought the 8800GTS 320mb Superclocked for £180 (it was a T.W.O offer and has to be without vat and shipping)

So for me to upgrade it would cost this :-

EVGA 8800GTS 640mb - £271 (I pay the between price of £91)

EVGA 8800GTX 768mb - £407 (I pay the between price of £227)

EVGA 8800Ultra 768mb - £543 (I pay the between price of £363)

Hope this helps some people :)

Inflated prices or what lol, wouldn't really bother, the gts should tie you over till christmas when the new dx10 cards are released.
