Hi guys,

Have many of you had much experience with EVGA step up program?

I have a 580 4gb from them(great service from ocuk btw!) , that falls just outside the step up date, I did email them to ask if I could pay a £100 and exchange my card for a 680..etc, got a rather rude and unhelpful response, so I am wondering if I just got a grumpy person or if this is truly inflexible no matter what?

Thank you

Hi and welcome to the forum (your first post anyway).

If you were outside the 90 days then unfortunately that would seem to be that.

I imagine they have to stick rigidly to the 90 days otherwise where would it stop?

91 days, 95 days, 100 days etc.

What was the actual response you got that you consider rude and unhelpful?

Thank you for the responses.

yes sorry 3gig, wrote this in a hurry.

I am not expecting any special treatment, it is well within their rights to turn my offer down - I wanted to see if other guys here had a similar experience, had any luck or ran into the same wall as me.

response 1 was " this is a automated system and there is no room for exceptions in the case the card is older then the 90 days."

then " if we would able to offer an exception in this case we would do it. If it is about a refund you will need to get in contact with the place of purchase"

I didn't ask for a refund, only said if I could pay towards it and change it.

It may be that they do stick 100% to the 90 days, however experience tells me that nothing is set in stone and if an individual wants to do something about it, then often they can.

There's nothing rude in the response at all.

90 days is 90 days, if a 3Gb 580 is affordable to a user, then I imagine selling it on and replacing it with a 680 is not out of the reach to the op either imho.

The Evga step up program is tremendous in the first place as no other company offers this service afaik.
