Remake of the original but looks incredible!

"Five friends head to a remote cabin, where the discovery of a Book of the Dead leads them to unwittingly summon up demons living in the nearby woods. The evil presence possesses them until only one is left to fight for survival."

Watch the trailer (pretty scary, be warned!)...pretty creepy goings on! Out April 19th!

Both Sam and Bruce approved of the remake, so I'll go watch it.

Can't be worse than the remake of Dawn of the Dead...

Only issue is, are they going to remake Evil Dead 2? Because that'd be a remake, of a remake, of a remake of Evil Dead... :D

This looks absolutely fantastic, me and my friends have been following this for what seems like forever now. We're all huge horror fans and all sighed at the first mention of this movie but it looks as though it's being done right. The closer it gets to release, the more excited we're getting, hopefully will be the film of the year for me, hopes are help very high!

Also...must emphasise this with bold and a lil underline...this movie has no CGI work at all, it's all practical effects :D :D :D

“We didn’t do any CGI in the movie. There’s no CGI in the movie. Everything you will see is real, which was really demanding. This was a very long shoot, 70 days of shooting at night. There’s a reason people use CGI it’s cheaper and faster, I hate that. We researched a lot of magic tricks and illusion tricks. [Like] how you would make someone’s arm disappear.”

Can't wait for this, I've been following it's development for what seems like an age!

It'll be the last movie me and my better half see before we're married......set the tone.

Evil Dead 2 is not a remake....

They 're-made' the beginning because Raimi and Co. had lost the rights to the first film,so couldn't use the footage. The original plan was to quickly re-hash what happened previously by composing material from the first film.

Cant wait for this to be released, definitely will be going to see it although not with the missus as shes a wuss when it comes to horror movies...so probably go with a few of my mates to watch it.

I've never understood the 2 being a remake thing. Surely after watching it, it's pretty obvious it's not - or do people just regurgitate what they read in crappy film mags reporting it as such??

Well, the first half is "kind of" a remake, up until Ash is dragged through the woods by the evil entity. Not too hard to see where some people might get confused in the intentions there.

That bit with the tongue and knife at the end is grim :p

Looks good though, will be looking to watch this at some stage.

From the trailer this looks like some cheap B rated horror spoof  I realize the Evil Dead series is to be watched with tongue in cheek (I like the original) but this looks like complete turd, everything just looks too colourful, synthetic and blatantly obviously fake. The colour of the blood in the puking scene, WTF?! Blood isn't even close to that colour.

And the girls elbows were too pointy

I dont see the point in it.

The original already had the best actor in history in it giving a career best performance, you cant improve on perfection.

If you're making a horror you should at least make the blood look like blood though, I wouldn't call this nitpicking, pretty fundamental I reckon. Anyway what's stopping them using real blood from the nearest slaughter house? A few buckets of pigs or bulls blood goes a long way, very nutritious too.:p

It's a film about people being possessed by demonic entities unleashed by recitation of written passages in a book, and you're worried about the colour of the stuff they're puking up???:p
